A very long time ago during my first ever physical/sexual experience with a woman I actually did something very similar. I was a late bloomer in my 20s and had gone on a couple dates with a woman that was 19 or so. Anyway, I mentioned I was totally inexperienced and she didn't seem to judge me at the time. Sometime later we were hanging out at my place and we were watching a movie together sitting on my couch. She had little shorts on and a small top with the mid drift showing and I asked something like "You don't mind if I do this do you?" and I caressed her legs lol. It kind of makes me cringe and laugh at myself looking back on it but I was totally inexperienced at the time and felt it was the best way to go about this.
