Hey I Sell tickets too man I just expanded my business as well. I plan on making 7,000 dollars by christmas if I keep up the hustling. We should share some strategies sometime?

And I think that getting out on the street and selling stuff should be a REQUIREMENT for all aspiring DJs not just for girls and what not, but for your future as a whole. I go out and hit the street with a huge smile on my face and have as much fun as I can and people are DRAWN to me, I hardly have to go and find them to sell to them. Its an EXCELLENT confidence booster and you have no problem approaching hot ass girls because u have a reason to.

As far as the bootcamp, I have been slacking but I have gotten about 15 strangers done.

So for me:

14 Hot girl hellos (6 left)
15 Stranger hellos/conversations (15 left)
And Alex you have to hold onto that motivation for as long as you can, I went through EXACTLY what you are going through now 6 months ago. I stopped eating fastfood only drinking water and so forth. But it IS going to wear off so get as much out of it as you can while its still burning inside of u!
This was actually my first time attempting to sell tickets, so I don't have much experience to delve upon for discussing strategies, but I will keep on doing it in the future because it was fun. I did get advice from someone I was selling to, she said to put more enthousiasm into it and to make it seem like a huge deal. I will be working on this for sure! hope you can make the 7000 man.

What do you guys mean by selling tickets? As in for what event/show?

Well today I went out and about the town and got 11 hello's and like 15 eye contacts. My main problem is making eye contact and then their eyes dart away and I feel that it was not long enough for the hello. I'll count them for now because they really boost my confidence.

Or should I not?
Are you guys counting them? I started from ground zero btw

HAha nah chris, this WONT wear off, atleast not for a few months. It's easy for confidence to wear off, but for an entire mind set/whole new life and ROUTINE to wear off is tough, if you keep with it. ;o

I know what you mean, we might make eye contact from a distance (too far away to say anything) but once we get in talking range, their eyes dart away. It's just our society I think. And you need to start trusting your gut, if you feel you should count it, then god damm1t count it! Trust that primal instinct!

Also, a new challenge, whenever you go to a store (or anyplace where they're forced to be nice to you) practice commenting the cashier or whoever about something. It helps you confidence and shows you just how easy it should be to do it to someone at school or on the street.

I know as long as you take their advice with a grain of salt it can be quite amusing and enlightening. I talked to a black guy on the bus the other day about the follies of our generation and what not. (He looked exactly like Reverend Jackson.)

well my band is playing at a show, so thats what we are selling for.
we aren't gonna make a ton of profit, maybe a 100 bucks at the most.
we could make more, but the time the bands play is based on how many tickets you sell.

WEEK 1 Day 5

Alright so today I went and got a haircut at around 12 in the morning. After that I hit up the local Harmons to get some strangers in. In about 10 minutes I got 6 people.

It was really interesting because about half of them were cold approaches. I'd just go stand next to them as they were looking at food or something and ask how you could tell which ones were good, or their opinion on it. People are actually a lot more friendly and willing to talk than you might think  It makes me realize how easy and good situational openers are.

After that I hung out with my friend and we went exploring the local stores. I got more hellos in that time frame as well. I didn't carry around my journal today though.. tisk tisk :cuss: The gayest thing happend too, as we were leaving the shoe store I stuck my gum on one of the shoes (funny right!!!) and and employee literally chased us down and made me pay for them. FVCK ME! I didn't know it was his dream job and he was so dedicated :box:

Anyways, I got 16 stranger girls all together today. One or two of them also just looked or stared at me when I said hello. Sad they have no social skills .. I'm also going to practice getting more hellos at school. Just because your done with it, doesn't mean you should stop. Just do it for the fun and love of the game.

Overall totals:
School: 21
Strangers: 19

Nicely Done Alex.

The only thing I might critique is the fact that you are doing it with a friend. I find it a MILLION times easier to approach/do wacky things when I am with people or a person. Especially if you tell them that you have a goal to say hello to x amount of people!

I am doing all of mine solo because frankly it is too easy to do them with someone else, and because in life you will be by yourself and you need to feel confident when its just you and an HB and your friend is no where to be found.

Thank you sir, and to be honest with you, it was actually harder/more awkward with my friend. He's afc and i try to help him out, but he just doesn't listen, so sometimes he'd just tail 3 ft behind me when I did it. The only reason I was with him anyways is just because we were hanging out, and he wanted to check out some stores, so I decided to get more people while we were there. I got maybe 80% alone or when I broke away from him and started taking laps around the store while he shopped.

Anyways, it was a pretty sh1tty day at school today, I just wasn't feeling it for some reason :nervous:

--------

7:55 - Got 1 in first period
9:00 - Got 1 on the way to second

And I also went to two stores today on my way home and got 6 strangers. I should also add that most if not all the strangers are a lot older than me. They're all women, but still just older than me. It's hard to find a lot of girls my age at Shopko lol.

Well today was a good day, it was my actual first day of school
sadly there arent many people taking spare at the same time as me
I approached two cute girls, but found out that they have boyfriends... ( should that stop me??)
Theres a third one in one of my classes ill go for though, no wait three!
although now that i've had time to scope, there isn't much of a selection in my classes =(, guess ill just have to do out of class approaches which is much more difficult for me. Theres a few more, but I dont recall them too well, but I did record them!
I also chatted with the university chick of the bus. So in all so far I got

gah these days from approaching all these girls... people are labeling me as creepy... at my place, it's just not normal to things like this since we're WAY too small of a school and everyone knows each other so they're automatically in clicks already.

Hey Kingman they just aren't used to the new you. People label things as "creepy" or "weird" when they are new and different. They aren't used to your new confidence and are probably just not used to it and Jealous!

Okay today I got five girl hellos (that I recall) I do say hi to everyone in my halls no matter if I know em or not. I'm pretty sure I'm done now with that. In my day to day routine I probably say hi to 50 strangers just because I like to make someone's day better.

But tomorrow I'm gonna say hi to 50 people in a half hour just for ****s and giggles! I'm gonna walk into a walmart and just start the timer and run around getting them all, haha. I signed up for break dancing lessons tomorrow too just for the hell of it.

I also picked up a hitch hiker for the hell of it and had a fun conversation with him, I'm impulsive like that haha.

No haha. I will look at them and as they are passing and do not look at me I will be like 'hey whatsup' in a silky tone? best I can describe it. Its not weird because I'm saying hi and high fiving lots of people I know in the halls, my goal is to not be like the rest of the world and pretend that you arent walking next to someone.

Alright, what I've noticed is that I'm much more comfortable with this kind of stuff in the afternoon, such as post 1pm. The mornings i feel tired and not myself for whatever reason.

However, I definitely got most of my eye contacts in today and about 4 hi/short convos in to girls at cross country practice. I just felt in the zone after that and felt comfortable talking to everyone.

My goal: go to school in the morning with a purpose, and act like the same person that happens to wake up after lunch. It's gonna be hard to do since I'm not naturally a morning person but it'll be worth it in the end.
