We're beginning next friday. I will join the Xanga blogring posted above, and recommend that everybody do the same. It will work out better than all of us trying to post field reports in a common thread - that would just be chaotic.

I will, however, start a thread where we will be able to post "I had an awesome night out last night! Check it out guys, here at http://link.to/myblog!"

Anyway, my blog will be up and running soon. Apparently, I signed up for a Xanga once - I got the classic "This username is taken" message, so I figured I'd try my stock password, and, viola! "Hi, BrotherAaron... it's been 354 days since you joined Xanga. You currently have no entries" Haha, I guess I hadn't quite found a use for it yet.

Ok, we have chat rooms, aim, threads, and this xanga thing. Someone needs to be the "ringleader" here and organize this. I have organized and hosted many car events (track days, dyno days, meets, shows, etc), so I speak from expierience when I say this looks like it's headed for disaster. If I may, here are some ideas:

1. Scrap this thread, copy the AIM list to a new thread, sticky it, and have sign up posts only with no off topic discussion whatsoever.

2. Someone needs to be the "leader." He wont be the boss, he will just organize everything to make this successful. Having too many people trying to do so will **** everything up. I know this all too well. I would do it myself, but I am going away for almost 2 weeks right after the start of this thing. If it comes down to it, I will step up and get the ball rolling if you guy want.

3. We need some place to communicate. I think AIM chat rooms are the best, but we would need to find a time when most people are on.

4. When I said the team thing wouldn't be a good idea, I didn't think the turnout would be this great. I now agree that the 4 or so man team would be a good idea, but we need a system for breaking up into teams, and handling drop outs.

I think it would be a good idea if we make a new bootcamp post every week. For example: DJ Bootcamp week 1, week 2, ect.

Bootcampers: I'm out!

But don't worry. I'll be back. It's family reunion time, and I definitely don't intend to try and pick up girls there. It's out in the woods, and I don't anticipate having internet access (I'll try, ok?). Feel free to leave me a PM anytime, but I likely wont be able to respond until Wednesday.

For now, I recommend reading not only the bootcamp week 1, but read some other things in the DJ Bible about approaches, confidence, and whatever else you feel might help you in the approach game.

EverOnward, I still want to find a chat solution other than AIM - I want to designate a room that will be persistant and doesn't rely on privae invitations. People should be able to go there anytime and see if there are other people around. There are enough people in this already to make it a popular chat room. Who knows, maybe people who aren't bootcamping will even want to come in and say a few words.

I also like your idea to post a new thread every week. That will make it easier for people to keep up with current events.

LostinNJ - don't sweat it. I'm working on pulling this all together, but, in the end, it's not too complicated. The important thing is that everyone has a way to post their field reports and get positive responses to them.

Anyway, I'll help tie up all the loose ends when I get back. For now, good luck on your preparations. Don't lose steam, we've got some great enthusiasm goin on here. I really like Tehcnicolor's style - if you want to improve yourself, go all out! Remember, girls are just one part of the equation, so don't stop focusing on yourselves.

Suggestion: To stop people from joining after the start should there be a dedicated site with logins created for all users, a list of sn's with hyperlinking blogs? An exclusive forum for our bunch to keep out negative critics from out side the group as well as remove any one who uses criticism vs encouragement. until 8 weeks of camp is over so others can see what they missed out on?

just a thought guys

i think we need a little organization, yes. and a way to organize everything, i think we should have 8 summer bootcamp threads, one for each week. that way, when people finish, they can move on. all 8 pages should be created, and the first week should have links to all 8. the reason im trying to stress this, is because people WILL fall behind, its unavoidable. people will be busy, have places to go, vacations ect. so if there are multiple rooms, people can post in one until they complete the goal or feel comfortable and can move on. some weeks will probably be more challenging then others, so this way people can still stay in the game and keep going with the BC even if they fall behind or cant complete the exercises in the given time.

now, personally i dont see a need for a "leader." someone just needs to make the posts here, and if people wanna do blogs and chatrooms they can do that on their own, but the main thing is just getting the 8 weeks made (if people agree this is a good idea, i think it is anyway). if no1 wants to do it i have no problem doing a little work. i dont have the time or desire to organize chatrooms or anything beyond whats on this website. the most important thing is that we go OUT and complete the exercises. chatrooms might be great, but it could just lead to time being wasted that could have been spent with people going out into the world. thought without action is USELESS, and action in this case is going out and stepping out of our comfort zones.

just my thoughts. if people agree that the seperate posts for each week is a good idea, then i can go ahead and create it come this friday (unless some1 else wants to, or every1 decides on some1 else to do it). i think we should post the initial exercises and the lil intro that comes with each week so people can read it on the site as well.

either way, ill check back in a couple days to see what the consensus is. i think the 8 seperate threads would be a good idea, that way people can still have some1 whos doing the same exercises no matter where they are in the camp. but, thats just me, please post on your opinion, we can make this work or we can just do it another way.

Don't know where you got lack of faith from that post, but whatever. I simply gave my suggestions for organizing this thing based on my expierience with hosting events. Simple as that, take it or leave it.

Technicolor, it is a great idea to have separate threads for each week. That way maybe we won't need blogs. I suggest people make short posts or if they can't make it short, make sure to have a short excerpt/summary at the end.
