The guys grasp of social awareness associated with the "getting it" of chicks is basically redundant.

Who the hell does the screening for this, the only mods here I've seen with the slightest hint of knowing what theyre talking about is Desdinova and Rollo Tomassi and to a lesser extent your Diablos (on the occasions he inputs), and what the fvck happened to Prosemont?

Heres a thought, try finding someone who understands the core dynamics of cvnt perhaps?

What I would like to know is, given that the opportunity is by application and not invitation, why any applicant would even be considered Mod material to begin with. I would assume that anyone who is mature, visits the forum daily, has been doing so for at least 3 months and would be interested in such a thankless job would surely have a decisive list of people they would love to ban, people they would love to expose and grand ideas on how to make this website a much better place in their own minds: all qualities that I'm sure are least desired in a new moderator.

If it's not open to public vote, why bother making it public at all? After all, if you're a moderator, you're mature and have been visiting daily, you should have a pretty clear indication of who's who and who knows their stuff. Why bother sifting through applications from moody people hungry for unweilding power? If the man behind the curtain ultimately decides, why shouldn't the man behind the curtain hand select the man or men he wants? If there were ever a place EOE shouldn't apply, it's here. But that's just my humble opinion.

Actually, there IS a screening process. Not everyone that applies gets a shot.

I just want to point out something and this isn't specific to ( . )( . ). No matter who you are, once you start living your life on your terms and it shows, there will be people who will snipe at you; it's a fact of life.

Think about it, when was the last time that you shared some really good news about your life with a group of people and everyone was genuinely happy for you. How many times did you just get accolades without anyone deflecting the good times or trying to burst your bubble? It's a rarity.

It's very cliche but "misery does love company." It's much harder to elevate yourself to the levels of others. It's easier to try to pull others down. That in itself is neither good nor bad, it's just the way that it is. The thing that could be considered bad is if you allow them to do it to you.

For whoever DOES get the mod positions, I'd like to offer the following guide:

(1) You suck. No matter what you do. Get used to it.

(2) Did you know that this forum gets flooded by neo-Nazi groups, KKK, ultra-feminist groups, people who want to offer everybody free iPods and Playstations, and bored 12-year-olds who think posting threads titled "I HAVE SEX WITH YUR MOMS BUTT" is the pinnacle of humor? You didn't know that? Thank a mod.

(3) It makes people angry if you are not making sure that every thread is in its proper forum. They will say, "WTF, mods? Why is this in the Tips Forum? It belongs in Anything Else! Worst mods EVAR!" Then they will cry and proceed to cut themselves.

(4) It makes people angry if you move threads to another forum. They will say, "WTF, mods? Why did you move my thread from Tips to Anything Else? Worst mods EVAR!" Then they will cry and proceed to cut themselves.

(5) Did I already say that you suck no matter what you do?

(6) Drinks in the Moderator's Corner are 1/2 off between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on weeknights.

(7) Everything you say will be looked at with new scrutiny. Because you agreed to move threads to the correct forum and close or delete inappropriate threads, you are now considered a role model for some of the most f*cked up adolescent-aged and adolescent-minded posters to be found on any forum on the Internet (except the forums where they talk about having sex with cartoon animals). Now you can't say anything remotely controversial without someone saying, "You're setting a horrible example!"

(8) This site, by its very nature, is composed of many people who have -- how do I put this gently? -- social/personality issues. In their real lives, they often do not feel like "alpha males", so they decide to become an "alpha male" on an internet dating forum. So they take on the nearest "authority figure", which ends up being a mod. Now, yeah, they're just like mosquitoes... annoying, but easy to squash. Still, who likes being surrounded by mosquitoes all the time?

(9) Have I mentioned that you suck no matter what you do?
