The EC wasn't the forum where the coalition was built, nor where the dialogue was conducted, and the "compromises" that the EC has induced have been on morality for the worse - just as its slavedriving founders intended. The mere fact that they founded and used it to sponsor immorality disproves your notion that you can "discount" the gross immorality that the EC presided over in favor of some ephemeral and arbitrary "principle", which conveniently aligns with your political aspirations. If it really did what you claim it does, then immoral people wouldn't have been able to use or found it for intentionally immoral purposes.
The evidence is that it's moral philosophy, not the political system itself which ultimately determines the outcome, and that preventing a "tyranny of the majority" by instituting a "tyranny of the minority" is a gravely flawed willful ignorance.
Your second point is just a replay of your initial go to soundbite that I've used history and philosophy to get you to reconsider, I won't repeat it.
