My myspace just has a few of my friends on... everyone on there I knew previously in real life... what are some of you guys doing!!?! LOL...

Don't be a fool and post your whole lifestory on there as has been said... it makes you look a prick, think about it... everyone who knows you in real life already knows what you're about, and why do you want to tell anonymous internet users about every faucet of your life?? It just makes no sense...

You guys should just look at Myspace as a way to market yourself.

-Don't post pics of you with every girl you've ever seen
-Don't give out tons of info; maybe a job title and some hobbies
-Sorry to guy above but posting pics of yourself flexing is.. well, kinda lame.
-Don't have a bunch of crappy (tacky) musical add-on's and things floating on your page

-DO post pics of you out and about with friends
-DO have a family shot in there somewhere
-DO have a pic with a chick or two (pick the best)
-DO check your spelling and grammar

The idea here is that if you give a girl your name, it's almost guaranteed that she'll look you up before a date. You want to convey a fun, friendly and interesting angle, not that of some roid-monkey bent on conquering the world with his thug friends- sure, you might think that's cool but I guarantee some MBA grad HB10 won't. You want to look like you're approachable (remember, someone may be checking out local profiles and just happen to run into you in person) and you want to create depth by limiting the information, not expanding on it!

This is one of the few times that you completely control the stage on which you appear. Make it a good one!

I think you worded it a little harshly ("delete it"), but I see where you're coming from.

Here's my page. Like friendster I find it a bit of a ghey circle-jerk and rarely use it, and I only have real-life friends on it. There's also a link to my website - anonymity-schmanonymity.

I see the good intentions but man... pretty uneccesary if you ask me... and a bit insecure. All it will do is mess up your game? If you have game you have game, I'm definitely not worried about myspace messing it up.

Myspace nowadays is as common as a cellphone, and if you dont have one people will think you're different, but not in a good way. You will be seen as some1 who doesnt have that many friends.
LMFAO. This is total bull****.

Yeah, because someones social status is directly related to how many strangers they have on MySpace as friends. Maybe he doesn't have time to sit at home and collect "girl friends" because their clevage looks nice. God forbid he actually approach in public, vs sending off some corny email that trys to show he's not interested.

I think a lot of guys use MySpace as means to avoid the fear of rejection. You approach a girl at a bar, you get shot down. You take a dive. You talk to a girl on MySpace and it doesn't get anywhere, then no harm done it was just talking.

I'd stay away from MySpace.com if I were you. I hear that the people who do background checks for jobs/college/etc will go to friendster/myspace/facebook to search for your profile. If you have a picture of your dumbass self holding a bottle or two of alcohol or if your guestbook is filled with stupid music videos or sexually explicit imagery, they will judge you harshly.

If you can't stay away because your social life will become miserable without then you might have to use a fake name with an alternate email address.

Also, Myspace.com is owned by Fox Media which gives free info to US Gov't.

i think this really has gone too far.. like seriously, there are almost 100,000,000 people on myspace and only 6.3 or 6.4 billion people on the earth.. when its put like that, i'd say most people are on myspace.. with the majority being from north america, asia, and europe..

i think myspace is awesome because its like the first homepage type of thing that is FREE, and super easy to use, and almost everyone is on it or getting on it. i dont use it to pick up strangers, i mean maybe occasionally send a message to a girl i dont know but only if we have common interests.. and even then that chances of her writing back aren't great lol..

its not that serious.. theres more to life than worrying about creating mystery.. fvck all that.. live your lives

I deleted my myspace a while ago. I think its a stupid waste of time.

I also don't have a working cell phone.

My friends know how to contact me if they need to. That's all I need.

I havent finished making my myspace profile yet....Im really behind on that...Prob because I go out to much and have a life!

I do want to make a good profile thow....dont know why. Same with my msn blog. I think i want to do it so all my old msn buddies can see how im doing without having to talk to me as im not on my comp near as much as i used to be these days.....pretty much only when im at work or an hour every 2-3 days.

No phone jack knife??? Your Mad. I couldnt go more than a day without my phone....but then i wouldnt need to since i have my own mobile phone shop. :D

I hate the old "i use it to keep in contact with friends" excuse. No, you're using it for attention. Friends have your e-mail address and phone number if they want to contact you, and you have theirs.

My email is never used for contacting friends, and my cell phone had been shut off for three months previously, therefore, myspace is the easy answer. Don't be that guy who acts like an old man talking about "back in my day" and trying to tell US how WE use OUR myspaces, even if we already know what we do with them. That's just gay.

I just deleted mine a few days ago. I think it's a waste of time. Maybe in a few months I'll re-make it, but I was spending too much valuable time when I could be out in the real world meeting new people. I would find myself checking profiles way too often when I was bored or when I should have been doing something else.

The whole thing about how people won't think you have friends is ridiculous. I have plenty of friends who, for the most part, aren't on myspace.

There's nothing wrong with having a myspace,
I just don't see the point of messaging girls who are way
out of your reach (geographically). If you're going to use
it, like PowerTripII said, add your friends, business associates
and family members. Don't just add anyone with big boobs or
who seems like Miss Popular 2006.
