Out of curiosity guys, how do you all handle the many male haters out there? Those guys, even random strangers, who give you mean looks, frown and whisper and try to say stuff to provoke you when they notice that you're in good physical shape-especially if your shirts show how defined you are? Have any of them tried to approach you guys personally and attempted attacking you physically just out of envy? A lot of those guys just seem to think that men who hit the gym very frequently must have an array of flings and sexual conquests, and that thought alone makes them dislike you even more. In my own personal experience, I've also come across a few male cops who frown and look at me funny, as if saying silently: "So what? You work out now? You think you're tough? Just do something stupid and I won't hesitate to snap those cuffs on your wrists."

You don't deal with them. They aren't worth your time. Let them talk or whatever,it only makes them look insecure.

-show low value: do as if it's nothing, like you don't care about your physique
-agree with what they say
-offer them your help to get the same thing you do

People are all the same. When they see something they don't have they are jealous. Of course if you tell them how you can get the same thing, they become your best friend.

I get what your saying. I have friends, so are pretty much slackers. When we go out, they end up finishing the night off at mcdonalds, and as usual i just sit there and don't order anything. Then they usually start ragging on me, saying bs like "well at least i'll die happy"(from eating the burger), or gym muscle isn't any good in sports (usually i reply to that one with, wtf every athelte hits the gym), or that my whey, supplemments are unnatural, ie. one of them told me this guy he knows just drinks milk by the gallon and is ripped.. I usually just nodd my head, simply because everytime we go out I'm the one getting complimented, getting the looks, etc...so dont let it bugg you bro, think of it this way, theres less competition from these fools for the hotties

Stop giving them the attention of noticing, recognizing and/or acknowledging their actions.

Re:

I hear you, guys. I usually smile, yet at the same time I can't be walking around just smiling all over the place like an idiot. Sometimes doing that could cause many people not to take you seriously. And to one of the posters who replied, no...I of course don't wear "shirts with the middle finger pointing at people." But my shirts seem to fit me really well because I seem to be very toned and I do a lot of work on my biceps, chest and abs and depending on the T-shirts that I wear, if they are athletic-fit T-shirts, the definition shows.

It's interesting, though. A lot of people are really superficial in this culture. Once many women look at you and realize that you work out, they start acting extremely nicer than normal to you in customer service situations-at coffee shops, grocery stores, clothing stores and other retail outlets.

I have two questions for you guys. One has to do with French Fries. I've pretty much eliminated that from my diet. It's amazing how that seems to happen naturally once you start working out in a dedicated manner. But at the same time I was wondering, would eating a little bit of French Fries once in a long while-let's say once every two to three months be that bad? I always worry about developing a pot belly and losing my abs if I start eating fries regularly. The only fries I occasionally don't mind eating at the ones made at the restaurant chain called Five Guys, since they say that their fries don't contain cholesterol and are fried in peanut oil. Do you guys think the French Fries made at a restaurant like Five Guys are somehat healthier compared to the others for guys like us who work out a lot?

Dude it's fried=NO NO

What you eat and how you will separate you from everyone else.

If you eat like everyone, you will look like everyone.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I don't really agree with this last sentence: I eat $HIT everyday, meaning the only thing I watch (and I've only started about a month ago) is to keep carbs and fats separated as much as possible, but if I'm eating out I don't even think about it; I drink at least a couple of beers every night; I eat 3 ice creams a day and I visit McDonald's at least on saturdays and sundays. Yet, my body is surely better than average, since I am 5'9 and 160 lbs and around 13% bodyfat (I'm trying to get to 10 within 3 weeks or so).

One thing I wanna know: you ripped guys say that girls watch when you pass by because of your muscles. This just doesn't happen to me: I mean, if I get to know a girl, she will likely ask if I lift weights, but it never happens to me that girls in the street watch my biceps or chest, even if I'm only wearing a tank top; guys usually stare or throw a couple of looks out of envy, but girls only look me in the eyes if any. Thus, what I wanna know is: how much are you tall and what's your weight and bodyfat?? I'm definately bigger and more ripped than average, but I repeat, girls only notice that at the beach.

One meal in 2 months is going to mean nothing. I got drunk (not terribly) last Saturday afternoon at a pig roast. In the grand scheme of things it's going to mean nothing. My weights still went up my next workout. It's just not something I do often or it will start to affect things.

Cheat occassionally. If nothing else it keeps your mental sanity, gives a boost to your thyroid and whatever else...

I disagree that fried foods = avoid at all costs. Fried in what, how much, and how often, and what the rest of your diet is is a much bigger factor than "omg it's friedz." But, something like fried chicken is a lot better than the mess of fat+carbs mixture in french fries.

Dietary fat is not the enemy.

I do my weekend morning walking on the side of a 2 lane highway with fairly large sides. I do it shirtless to get some sun and wearing a sweat soaked shirt in this humidity is dumb anyway. Lots of girls slow down, yell and/or honk.

Girls are much braver when they're hiding in their cars compared to walking by me in the super market and won't even make eye contact.

Re:

MrRuckus, you say fried chicken isn't all that bad. Would you encourage folks on here to eat at KFC? I stopped doing that a long time ago. I also don't drink beer anymore. I've never been a big beer person anyway...but the possibility of beer giving people pot bellies is definitely cause for concern. When I go to bars, I drink juice instead-like cranberry or lemonade. People and bartenders who don't understand think I'm being cheap or a wimp.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

As I started dressing better, my friends negged me. I thought that was pretty funny, but I take it as a sign of progress. :p

However, I haven't had any random guys stinkeye me or anything...

Anyhow, while muscularity might get some girls gawking at you...I believe style is more what really gets their true attraction and interest. And when you walk around in a sweaty neon tank top - that's not really good style.

I know exactly what you're saying Frank. I even get other body-builders at the gym who are 'haters'. I'll see them out somewhere and they'll frown and avoid eye contact at all costs.

I'm one of those types who won't settle for looking second best at the gym lol. The gym and computers are my domains (and of course women on the side). It a took a couple of years to become the top dawg, but i did it and don't intend on giving that up anytime soon, especially to some whiney spoiled conceded hater. No ..i'm old school.

you call it for what it is. an immature, undeveloped man crying foul because he doesn't feel like playing by life's predefined rules. It's not your fault he doesn't want to put the time in it takes to be successful.

laugh it off.

I treat men like this the same way I treat women, which is the same way I treat my 7 year old sister when she is talking.. I don't take a thing that comes out their mouths seriously
