I usually drink 1/4-1/2 gallon of skim milk a day, but I have decided to try cutting out milk for a month and see what happens in terms of fat loss. Lots of people on here seem to hate milk. Right now I am 6'0, 179 lbs, don't know body fat % but 6 pack is visible when flexed. I will report back in a month with the results.

To be honest I don't think that you will notice that much. Try cutting out bread, rice & pasta for a month then you will see ALOT.

Milk is NATURAL so it goes in and out real fast, people put too much emphasis on the sugar content.

I'd reccomend two months. My stomack problems and acne went away after cutting out milk products. Worth try atleast. If your shakes taste like chalk when mixed in water only, you can allways use half ater and half ricemilk.

Well it's been a month and while I had cut out milk I noticed no change whatsoever. I didn't feel any better or worse at all and didn't notice any changes at all in performance or bodyfat level.

I guess some peoples' stomachs just don't agree with milk, but it doesn't bother me at all unless I drink at least 3/4 of a gallon in a day. Then I just fart alot :) I am back to my usual 1/2 gallon of organic skim milk a day now :)

What's a good alternative to mix protein shakes with? I've never tried it with water. How about soy milk?

Im not a fan of milk. The calcium in the milk work the wrong way. It causes a degradation of bones and teeth. That's why milkdrinkers often get ostioporoses when they grow older.

Dude don't trip off milk. It's not going to make you gain weight unless you pound it down right before bed. The sugar in it isn't added, which makes it natural=goes threw you fast. Pound that ish down,it's a good source of protein.

I've cut milk out for a month or two before.
I never noticed any fat loss.
I'm back to not having had any milk in a few months again. Only because I haven't really eaten anything that required milk.

But shouldn't we be drinking milk for strong bones and teeth?
I ask because the only dairy products I eat now are fat-free cheese and yogurt.

That's just clever marketing.

Pound down your eggs, ground beef, and spinach for strong bones.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

Milk is great for your muscles. Eliminating it out of your diet would be a stupid idea.

oh, it was in Men's Health, it's bound to be true.

I have long since said that most people are lactose intolerant, milk is the cause of several health problems including a weak immune system and acne, lays down fat fairly easily and is full of worthless lactose sugars.

And just because some people drink a lot of milk and have no problems on the OUTSIDE doesn't mean it's doing them any good on the inside - that said there are people in the world who are genuinely lactose tolerant (the Masai people in Africa for example) but even so, commercially produced milk is, well... sh!te.

If you can get raw (not organic necessarily) whole milk I'd say go for it, otherwise stay away.

As for a protein source there are far better sources out there. Calcium and vitamins you can get from other foodstuffs.

And nothing in Men's Health will change my mind on that. :)
