We’ve all been catfished when it comes to online dating. Back in the day a girl looked decent in her pics and show up a whale. Or she’d look nothing like her pics. If she dude shows up not obese, looks like his pics, but maybe a couple inches shorter than advertised I don’t see the big deal. The Mouse Utopia had 2 elements: no economic constraints (i.e., the mice had all the food they could want, and didn't have to worry about BEING food), but an eventual physical space constraint of high population. The allegory is to modern society having its women not have to worry about getting a man for economic provisioning, and the meme of Tinder dating with "dating space" being constrained (i.e., high ability of meeting an alternative mate, hence a couple has little "space"). The mice had not gone through a genetic bottle of having to deal with this very unnatural situation (mainly that they would not have to worry about being food, thereby overpopulating); similarly, humans have not gone through a genetic bottle of women having virtually unlimited choice and not having to depend on a man for provisioning.

The author is basically saying that this combo in the modern era is causing women to abandon breeding, whether through just not needing a man (who in earlier days would demand that his wife give him steady poon), or for being able to have a perpetual mindset of "I'll only accept a Chad-tier man like the one that keeps pumping & dumping me".

Not all individuals need to breed for the genome to continue. The ones that cannot figure out how to breed in this generation - i.e., the women that are too picky, and the men that are not Chad-tier - will not be part of the next generation. Of course, this doesn't matter much for men (other than for genetic diversity, which is a healthy trait), but even for women, the pickiness will go away as an inherited trait. why? throughout history women wanted Chad (basically the top 10%). this is timeless regardless if it's this century or the past centuries.

the difference is that women are now encouraged to only date what gives them the tingles instead of marrying their equal and slowly developing the love and attachment.

remember men are suppose to pursue. if the average woman found the average men attractive, he wouldn't have to. throughout history men pursue women. I think this was how mother nature made men bind with their bride. she was a prize he had to work for so for him, he bonded with her.

It has. There's not much demand for short men. Yes, Neil Strauss is an outlier. He used personality-based tactics to get more pussie as a 5'6" man. Most men do not have the results Strauss had when studying seduction.

It's even tough out there for 5'9"-5'10" men these days. That's about average height. Millennial White women have been conditioned to think that anything below 6'0" is not desirable. On swipe apps, they'll filter these men out. More and more dating interactions are starting from swipe apps. While in-person is a little bit better, it's still not great for the 5'9"-5'10" man in the real world. Women CAN tell the difference between 5'9"-5'10" and 6'0"+. They know where they match up in height on a man in the real world.

It's tougher to be 5'9"-5'10" and White in the USA as compared to non-White and 5'9"-5'10". Hispanic men who are 5'9"-5'10" are better positioned at that height since Hispanic women are less fussy about the 6'0" requirement. Asian women also don't require 6'0" either. White women strongly prefer that a White man is 6'0"+.
