"Buy me a drink"

Every time I go out, some chick says to me "buy me a drink."

It's like clockwork.

These are usually girls who I have approached and gotten their names, maybe exchanged a few words, but not really spent any time with.

The old me would have said "sure I'll buy you a drink" and forked it over. In my quest to eliminate AFC behavior, I refuse to do this now. They can find some other chump to buy their drinks.

One girl said "Buy a drink for me and my friend. She's over there, and she's really cute." I had not even seen her friend. I told her, "Tell your friend to come over and give me a kiss, and then maybe I'll buy her a drink."

Of course she didn't, but neither did I.

Another girl asked and I said no. Then, later, when I got myself and my buddy a drink, she says, "I can't believe you didn't get me one too!!" I said, "Well, why don't you buy me a drink, then MAYBE I'll get one for you."

She says, "Oh, I love a guy who plays hard to get."

Do you other guys get asked this much, and if so, do you think it is the right call to refuse and bust on them for it? What is a good way to handle it? I did not blow any money, but I did not get any numbers either (of course, I didn't exactly ask - f*cking AFC chickenshyt - sigh, guess I'm not cured yet!)

If a girl asks you to buy them a drink, say,

"I haven't seen you do anything to deserve one, why don't you buy me a drink?"

"Why should I buy you a drink if you're the one that's hitting on me?"

Just look in her eyes, on her face for a few seconds. Then do whatever you were doing before and keep your mouth shut.

Shows confidence and that you don't really care

I read through that, as well of these replies. Although I embrace the concept of not suppplicating, and being C+F, some of the "suggestions" people made were a bit too much it seems to me.

C+F does not necessarily mean being a rude bastard, does it?.

"Get the F*ck outta here" was one guys answer. I guess you might be able to say this in a way that seems "humorous", but mostly it is just insulting, not in a playful way. But I guess that depends on where you live and what sort of manners people have.

I would rather use a reply that shows I won't be a sucker, and that she has to give me something first.

It did feel rude and a bit harsh, but it worked out really well for me and earned me respect.

The way I see it now, after meeting girls like this, is that when they ask guys to buy them a drink are only interested in feeding their egos or testing their "power". Don't waste your time trying to be clever or witty with them, they're not worth it.

Being a bartender, I run in to this a lot. I sometimes say the "why do you think you deserve it..." or an occassional favorite of mine "I'll buy you one if you buy me two" (this puts them in perspective on why not to ask for drinks)

Or to be an a$$hole, "How about you invest this money I would have used for your drink into some powerful breath mints"

About the pony/castle joke, I've rarely met any girl who has half the brains to get that in a bar (thats why I never go into one anymore, especially since everyone in there is somuch older than me)

I just say "Want fries with that too?"

Me : *contemplative silence for a few seconds followed by a deep almost disgusted* "NO!!"

Then don't say a word untill she does... girls that ask for you to buy them a drink are just trying to find some other sap to buy them a drink so that they can get back to their bf's.
