For those of you who got serious about adding some muscle to their frame, how much and in what ways did it improve your life? What positive changes did you notice after the first 15-30lbs of muscle?

A sense of superiority and contentment with yourself that gets completely ruined by dumbasses who make steroids comments to you in front of a lot of people so everyone starts wondering if you are taking them just because you're dedicated and do sh1t properly.

When you meet new people, they are more eager to please you and have more respect for you.

i went from closet crazy to full-blown crazy. 15-30lbs didnt do anything for me, it took nearly 60 for any noticable lifestyle changes.

more than anything, it just lets you be yourself. if youre some don johnson wannabe, added muscle will make your more attractive and seem more 'alpha' with women. if you want to be a reclusive wierdo who talks to himself in public, added muscle will help stave off harassment. its almost universally beneficial.

people just respect your presence more.

i dont mean to single you out but this is a recurring comment that never gets any more credible.

sense of superiorirty? based on what - your ability to deadlift more iron? in the real world looks are 1 or 2 with money, so in that sense you are 'superior' because you look better, but as human beings we should be able to reason above that.

you are not superior because you have more muscle mass than the next guy. maybe the time you spend in the gym, Scrawny Steve spends at the orphanage or homeless shelter. maybe he doesn't have time to work out because he's spending time with his adopted kids.

who the fuk knows? I know its tempting, but nobody has the right to judge others so quickly, especially on such a shallow scale. and if you're thinking physically superior, maybe Scrawny Steve ahs a blackbelt in jui jitsu and kickboxing, and can break all the bones in your arm if you try to grab him.

and why do you care if someone accuses you of steroids? there obviously just jealous. even if you did do steroids, its your body, why do their comments upset you?

6-headed-lewis,

superiority in the sense that someone who is muscular can physically dominate you.

moral superiority is a dogmatic construct of religion(and culture) that is used to manipulate. it feeds into our need for approval and a natural sense for social heirarchy and in-out group psychology. so **** the adoptive father thing.

i'm curious to hear what other people experienced as they bulked up.

WRONG.

Sure it helps if you play football or something but in the real world in means ****. A lot people these days are packing guns, knives, etc. How can a 320LB bench press help you ?

if you kick the **** out of somebody these days that person just comes back with a gun or 20 friends. How is being big gonna help

NOBODY is above a ass kicking. ANYBODY can be dominated.

Being a big guy doesn't make you TOUGH either. Don't confuse strong with TOUGH.

Come on guys, unless you live in a gang-ridden neighborhood or hanging in clubs that attract thugs, what's the likelyhood that people all around you are walking around with guns and knives in their pockets?

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Being really muscular doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being a good fighter or being able to "dominate" someone... sure, it can be a good supplement, but I've never seen a barbell throw a punch! I weigh 175 lbs at 6'0 and I consistently get worked over by a 5'6 145 lb guy at my MMA gym. If I get him in the clinch or double underhooks I can move him around pretty good but anywhere else he dominates me.

Becoming more muscly didn't help me one bit getting a relationship, because I still have a boring personality. However, I made out with a lot of (mostly drunken) girls, some of them took me home.
That's the reason I tell everyone looking for LTR to work on their humor first. Having that nice body will however get you more ONSs if you are looking for this kind of thing. Don't forget you still have to do the approach yourself.

Look at 50 cent he survived getting shot, because he had muscle to stop some of the bullets. Ya being jacked doesn't mean sh't if the guy shoots you in the face or head. Weight lifting makes you physically and mentally tougher, a wimp like you can stick a knife or two in me and I'll still be able to break your neck. Too bad there's so many p'ssies these days... fights used to be one on one. Now everyone needs their friends to help them out if they're getting their ass kicked.

Positive things after gaining 40 lbs...
- More respect from everyone.
- More looks and attention from chicks.
- Improved performance in sports.
- Better self-esteem = more approaches.
- Got into LESS fights... ppl are all talk and won't mess with big guys.

personally, lifting weights gave me a lot more confidence and self esteem, got better at sports, bulking up does NOT help with relationships though, you are still the same person, you need to change yourself, improve it, the bench press wont improve your mind

All these rap guys do is shoot each other. 50 cent packs a gun and his lyrics always talk about guns.

Poor example using 50 cent. This guy also has plenty of BODYGUARDS.

Sadly this is the world we live in. Im not afraid of some Bodybuilder or big guy. Im afraid of that thug or punk with a gun or knife.

And you think shootings and stabbings only take place in poor sections of town ? That is very wrong

Bulking up helps with the girls and confidence. I won't argue that. But you can DOMINATE people ? yeah right

Actually 50 cent was shot while he was leaving the studio. A thug came up and shot him, while he was sitting in his car. So he had no bodyguard or anything. He was too poor to afford bullet proof SUVs and bodyguards. NOw because he is rich, he travels around in a convoy. Ya sure there's shootings and stabbings... what happens if you don't have a weapon and get in a street fight? A 200 lbs guy will likely survive while a 150 lb will get murdered. Samething with prison, a skinny guy will get raped. Ya being big lets you dominate other people... that's not everything though but it HELPS. Do you see a 100-140 lbs dude dominate guys in the NFL?

Btw.. 50 raps about...
- Guns
- Minorities
- Strippers/Hoes
- Drugs
- Party/Clubbin
- Life
- Money

So saying he only raps about guns is very... ignorant.

If you're getting big to dominate people you're waisting your time. In the time it takes to get massive you could be having mma cage fights and be able to take on anyone.

I've trained MMA for years and recently focusing on bulking. Because I've been wasting time bulking all my skinny training buddies can now kick the sh!t out of me.

My theory is that when I'm at my goal weight I'll start training hard and hopefully keep my weight and catch up with them.

I think being big helps but not as much as fighting skill.

personally i just think it's a way of life. You do it to improve the quality of your life whether it be dominating some punk, getting shot, or doing it to pick up women. For me it's more self-confidence i'm more free to speak my mind about things and i generally care less about what people think about me. It's different for different people.

Why'd you get big?

I guess it all depends on why you got big. If you only decided to gain weight put on muscle because you thought it'd help you get more girls. Then no matter what you're still going to be that guy who just does things to impress girls. But if you do it for yourself and because you want to do and be your best self IE: being the healthies you can be, and strongest you can be. Then you'll be a person who is out there and is accomplishing his goals, (like gaining more muscle and weight) then you wont just be this tough looking insecure guy, no you'll be this secure guy who's out there for himself and his accomplishing his goals for himself not just to get validation from other people.
