There is a reason he was elected governor three times. Yes.... he used his position to often enrich himself, but the truth is he was actually a good governor. Yeah... you had to tolerate some of his questionable behavior... but when he was governor... the state was run well. Things got done... he really cared about the poor and middle class, while at the same time balancing business interests.

I don't want to start a political thread here, but if Edwin Edwards rose from the dead and ran for Governor... I would vote for him. IN fact, his dead body would be better than what we have now. I believe one of the reasons why Jon Bel Edwards served two terms as governor was because the name "Edwards" (even though Jon Bel was not related, as I'm sure you know) still carries a lot of pollical clout.
We will have a chance to vote for Edwards again in 2027. :)

Truth is I'm pretty sure I will not be in Louisiana in 2027. Our current governor is an idiot. Myopically focused on his social conservative base. As a business owner in this state I will say that my biggest problem is my rising insurance rates, rising property tax rates, rising crime rates, my inability to find educated and trained staff to do the work that I expect. I can't get people to move here because anyone that comes here has to figure out a way to pay for the education of their children since our public schools just suck. Nothing is being done about any of this.

Personally I don't give a flying fvck about any social conservative issues... I care that I'm spending more and more to operate my business, and my personal cost of living is going through the roof, while my margins narrow. We went thought this with Jindal... I guess 8 years of reasonable balanced leadership we got with Jon Bel was just too much for social conservatives... so now we are back to stupid.

St. Tammany Parish has good schools, but point well taken - the only folks that are OK with the Incel-breeding environment known as same-sex Catholic schools are willing to put up with it, and most folks in the country aren't. Insurance rates are rising everywhere (look at Florida!), so there is no way out of that (i.e., tornadoes in Iowa in December ) without going somewhere where water is scarce (NOTE: New, certified-fortified construction will keep the rates down). Louisiana has always been a tough place to draw in professional folks, but there certainly are enough natives that would take such jobs, but employers want the purple squirrels.

I was in Orleans Parish until I just couldn't take it anymore... the constant fighting with the NOS&WB and Entergy-Orleans is just soul sucking. My kids never went to public schools, they went to private school... mostly because I went to Public schools in Jefferson Parish and the only thing I learned was how to fight (and this was over 40 years ago... it's much worst now). When my parents finally put me in private school (sixth grade) I was at least two years behind and had to take Summer and after school tutoring to get caught up.

The Northshore isn't too bad, but road construction and infrastructure development isn't keeping pace with the growth of people fleeing the South Shore.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

Some women do prefer older guys to younger guys ignoring the wealth/status aspects.

At 56 I’m seeing a 48 year old who has told me she has always preferred older guys. Her limit is no more than 10 years older than her though. She was married to a guy who was 8 years older than her when she was 18.

I suspect part of the reason is daddy issues. She’s not close to her father, he was very hard on her when she was in her teenage years. Hit her at times when she didn’t do well in her studies (my girlfriend is Vietnamese).

It’s not always the case that all women are attracted to wealth/status either. My girlfriend has had dating offers from guys earning significantly more than me (hundreds of thousands of dollars more, like double or triple my income) with expensive cars, houses etc.

These guys are still hanging around as beta orbiters but she’s knocked them all back. I just laugh at them.

Sometimes you just have that X factor with one particular girl that no amount of money or status can buy.

It looks like Belichick got canceled by the NFL and had to take the UNC job. The NFL is desperate to attract female viewers, who will all look at his relationship with disdain.

Why is this surprising?

He is rich, famous, considered one of the greatest coaches to ever live and is universally revered in football circles.

He is on TV constantly.

Mutually beneficial...he gets to pound some hot young putang and have guys high giving him and she gets to associate with all of the fame, fortune and status to help build her own brand.

Plus I am sure she is building up potential monkey Branching opportunities with younger football friends.

I really don't get why people feel they should judge relationships between consenting adults.

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.
