Has anyone come across fashion/style articles for bigger(over weight) guys? Its really hard to find any decent ones with pictures, I have googled several times with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated, I just want the article/post.

Looks for pictures of Mike Lynche.

He was an American Idol contestant last year. He has a really big frame but his outfits usually worked. AI has one of the best stylists in the world so they knew what they were doing.

Also check out Styleforum.net, it's just like SS but a fashion forum.

What's sexy is being in shape. Sorry, I know, tough love. But put in the work, and reap major rewards later.

i asked for articles on heavier set men in regards to style of dress, not a "just go to the gym and lose weight".

I know people who would like the immediate results of "looking better" as they work on the long term goal of losing weight.

one person gave valid info, and I appreciate it... this forum is cringe worthy at times.

also if the person is losing weight theres no point in wasting money on clothes now because it wont fit in a couple months.

*slow clap*

way to give advice guys.

Hey! I'm an overweight guy whose hitting the gym 5 days a week. I've lost 10 lbs so far, but I'm still overweight, and want to lose another 30ish.What styles can i wear right now?

You still going to tell me to hit the gym? or are you telling me I can't dress up nice?

I agree on the occasional "cringe worthy" statement.

pretty much keep it to gym clothes. i at once went from 250 almost to 155 at my lowest. i'm 175ish now but i have some muscle to me.

dont' bother buying clothes. you will burn your wallet.

i went from a size 39 ish to a size 31 wiest.

if anything buy some cheap jeans, 1 pair just if you have to go somewhere but i b ought a **** load of gym clothes and just wore them around until i got where i wanted to be.

i was not always big, the majority of my life i was a 33 ish and when i got close to that i could wear my old clothes again

I read an article in the times that I posted in tips. It's about a new category of menswear called shapewear. It's basically underclothes that are very supportive and help to even out size that is becoming very popular. Check it out.

^^^ EXACTLY. You're fat, you buys nice clothes, you lose weight, 2 months later those "nice" clothes don't fit you any more. If you put your mind to it and are willing to go through so pain, you CAN lose a lot of weight extremely quickly.

lol, "your fat". lol. man that's blunt.

but yeah, i had nitted like 5 pounds a month here or there, then i went from like 220 to like 170 in less than 3 months. it's not hard, but it does take discipline that the avg person does not have. weight will melt like butter and so will clothes. i remember i bought like 10 pair of 32 inch pants thinking i was done i had never been smaller than that and 2 weeks later, literally, i was walking in the mall having to pull up my pants every 10 steps because they were falling off.

wait until you are 100% happy with your size. until then just deal with it.

This community has completely gone to shit.

OP has made his question very clear; I'm heavy-set, I plan on losing weight, how can I dress well in the mean time?

All he gets is a chorus of "lose weight and exercise". HE KNOWS THAT.

Nobody gives constructive advice anymore, nobody focuses on solutions, and nobody acknowledges what the OP says conceptually. Every thread on SS turns into pointless forum-speak and unrelated "this how I'm superior to you" rants.

If you're not going to answer his question, get out of the thread.

I'm trying to think but it's so much easier to dress overweight girls slimmer than it is to dress overweight guys slimmer. How much do you weigh? In stones (not pounds)?

Basically with women it's all about the hourglass shape and with guys it's always about the V shape, so perhaps clothes that broaden your shoulders to balance out your body. When I was a school there was a teacher that the girls swooned for, he wasn't particularly hot but he was quite charismatic, he was overweight but in a suit, with the suit jacket on (broadening the shoulders), he looked good, it really suited him.

I think it also depends on your face shape, one of my friends has a really round face and chubby cheeks but her body is really slim. But you still don't think of her as skinny because of her face. The teacher I mentioned didn't have too much weight around his face, so he didn't seem as overweight as he was, especially with his suit on.
