i asked for articles on heavier set men in regards to style of dress, not a "just go to the gym and lose weight".

I know people who would like the immediate results of "looking better" as they work on the long term goal of losing weight.

one person gave valid info, and I appreciate it... this forum is cringe worthy at times.
They don't make designer clothes in big-n-tall sizes. If you really ARE working on the goal of losing weight, then it will give you something else to look forward to/another reason to continue.

One option you have would be to get some shirts/suits custom-tailored for you, but honestly, you'd just be a well-dressed fat guy and, once you drop the weight, you'll be left with a bunch of clothes that sag off of you.

Unless you're looking to "dress to impress" for business or big social functions, I'd just keep working on the fitness and start worrying about dressing up once you get down to a more even weight. You will have a TON more options of clothes that will look good on you.

Just keep at it...don't get discouraged from lack of progress. The first 10-15 come off REAL quick. From then it's a grind.

All these posts and ONE person gave advice, this isn't specifically for me, its for bigger guys that want fashion tips, so I tried to reach out to a forum, that SHOULD of given some decent feedback giving the nature of the question.

what if they are comfortable with their size and DONT want to lose weight, or what if they want change up a style of dress WHILE losing weight.

I am also a heavy guy. I am also hitting the gym. I too, want to look decent in the meantime. Just because I am heavy does not give me an excuse to dress like a fvcking slob. Grooming and a neat appearance apply to all.

Dark colors and vertical stripes. Nothing form fitting. The person who suggested googling Mike Lynche was spot on.

Okay, so, now that everyone has told him to lose weight, let's move on to the point at hand.

Maybe he's 100 pounds overweight.

He won't be losing that in 2 weeks. Let's be realistic.

To the OP, I was once 30 pounds heavier than I am now and am still losing weight. The first thing I did was make sure NONE of the shirts I had were tucked in... obviously, you can't do this with work shirts.

But you can definitely do this with dress shirts.
I think another person you can kinda emulate is Ruben Studdard from his Idol days as well. Darker colors, specially black, will benefit you.

While you are trying to lose weight, you can dress well. I understand where you are coming from and you shouldn't have to wait til you have lost it all in order to dress well. I'll echo the sentiments of other posters in that you SHOULD lose weight, but I don't think that it should come at the expense of not dressing well NOW.

Honestly, during my transition I mixed it up with fitted jeans, nice shoes that matched belts perfectly, and buttoned down shirts that were a little loose so that you couldn't easily see a gut.

Tucked in shirts, tucked in polos, tucked in almost anything were a no no.

Forgot to mention;

It should be common sense, but stick with cheap sh!t. It is possible to look decent in cheaper clothes. Don't buy too much because once you lose the weight you'll just be making a trip to goodwill. Couple pairs of pants, a good pair of jeans (but not a $300 good pair :D ) and a few cheap button downs. Other than that, loose (but not baggy) t-shirts.
