BEWARE OF WEIGHTLIFTING AND THE FALSE SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Weightlifting provides a false sense of accomplishment that, if not properly managed, may contribute to complacency in other areas of your life. If you are on the
self-improvement path like I am, you are probably investing in yourself in a variety of fields: educating yourself in a specialized area, reading self help books about everything from finance to self-actualization, and generally pursuing the Don Juan ideal.

Always remember to focus your energies where they matter the most. Most of us get a nagging gut feeling when we are unproductive, at least after a while. That means its time to get going; organize finances, balance the cheque book, draw up that proposal, continue writing that Master’s thesis, or whatever you have going on in your life . Instead, you pump iron as an avoidance strategy, and the feeling goes away. However, in the greater scheme of things, remember that unless you are planning to be a professional bodybuilder, those biceps are not a long-term asset, and you still have real stuff to do. Don’t let the feel-good gratifying pump you get in the gym act as a placebo for real productivity, and when organizing your day, make sure that the really important things get the bulk of your energies, and not whatever is left behind.

If you want success in the real world with women, then you have to get into the field. This site focuses way too much on general improvement. Yes you need to have improvement to have a good life so that you are confident and others perceive you as a prize, but none of that matters if you don't even talk to the girl.

Marlimus, weightlifting is ESSENTIAL for MASSIVE success in most areas of life. I can DEFINITELY tell you that you can NOT be TRULY successful with women unless you lift on a regular basis. The same is true about business. Without exercise, you simply begin to run low on emotional fuel, low on that feeling of burning desire, passion, strength and determination that is ESSENTIAL to succeed in business. On top of all that, weightlifting extends your lifespan, and NOTHING is more important than that. Finally, all that being said, yes you should be careful not to LIMIT your life to ONLY working out. This has never happened to me though, as after lifting, i generally feel extremely motivated to read, do the things i've been putting off doing, etc. Perhaps its different for other people though, so yea we should stay conscious of that.

Weightlifting is VERY GOOD.

But you STILL have to go out and get rejected to succeed, as you have to make your muscles fail so they can grow. You have to develop fissures into your muscle as well on your ego. Then both grows :)

what if your built like a model? i'm not but i think i would rather have a yoga body but thats me. i don't like the stocky look on me that much

The same principle may apply for sports in high school and college. Sports give you a huge sense of satisfaction and a great feeling of achievement. They will get you recognized my many people including women. Unless if you are going pro, sports will not give you great success in the long run.

That's not true at all. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump and most business owners never went to the gym in their life. And with getting women, I see as many average, scrawny, or fat guys get HB's compared to muscular guys.

I see guys who don't lift with women way more. Even fat guys.

Guys who lift are made fun of for the most part, a lot look to bulky and if all you do is lift weights that's not much of a life. Do it if you want, as it's healthy and girls do like the extra tone. But to say you need to lift as if it has any connection with women is hilarious.

Wow.. the kind of bull**** being spewed on this site is dangerous.

Lifting is GREAT, IMO, but if you think that, and that alone will score you what it IS you 'want', you are sorely mistaken.

Time will teach you young ones what draws the fine women, it's only a matter of time. I assure you.

Take two entrepreneurs who are in direct competition with eachother, place them at the head of equally good companies, give them equal intelligence, education, connections and financial backing. If one works out regularly and the other doesn't, the latter will get DESTROYED. I repeat: DESTROYED. If you've ever been at the head of a million-dollar corporation, you'd know that there is so much truth to this statement that arguing about its validity would be unthinkable.

This is an illusion. When you see an out-of-shape guy with a hot chick, that's a chick that's taken him YEARS to land. When you see a guy who's ripped, that's one of THREE, FROM THIS WEEK ALONE! On top of all that, for every 100 guys who are out of shape, there's 1 who's in really great shape. Factor THAT into your statistic. And christ, do you know what chicks REALLY think of out-of-shape guys they're with? Do you have any IDEA how often they'll walk by me, holding hands with their guy, and give me a BIG SMILE and WINK at me when the guy's not looking? Do you know how often chicks tell me that they WISH their guys would get in shape, and how they FANTASIZE about hot, ripped guys (like male strippers, porn stars, firemen, etc) while flat-out DENYING it to their boyfriends? Trust me, if we took off our shirts and stood next to eachother in front of a gorgeous woman, i promise you that you wouldn't even get a second look. I don't care how "tight" your game is. A fantastic body INSTANTLY communicates so much value (ambition, persistence, determination, courage, consistency, discipline, knowledge, etc) that you simply wouldn't stand a chance. Now, if i was dumb as a doorknob, had no personality, or was a complete jackass, that's another story. But assuming that i'm a normal guy, and even if i don't have HALF the game you have... yea, not a chance.

Allot of people when they first start to lift weights hit the gym hard...every day, sometimes even twice a day and eat rabbit food! This is way to much and not neccecary, its all in what you eat what determines how you look.

I've noticed that I get more IOI's from different types of women being more stocky even though my body fat is slightly higher, not much just slightly, but I personally don't like this so cutting at the mo.

let me guess your a skinny guy that hates on guys that have something you don't

a skinny guy making fun of a muscular guy is just as pathetic as a 5'2 guy saying those 6'0 tall guys are goofy looking:rolleyes:

Weightlifting essential for success in any area in life? Yeah, that's historically accurate. The founding fathers were all jacked up on roids, right?
Anyway, I'm a gym freak basically advising other gym freaks to make sure their priorities are in order. That's all.

I'm a gym freak too, but I gotta say that as your arms grow bigger, you get the feeling of your male status going up. Your behavior changes. This goes along with dressing better, better grooming, etc. I mean, back when my body was a twig, I could walk up to a strong guy and be intimidated on an external level. And my interaction with him could be relatively beta (depending on the subject). Now, I can walk up to a guy and command respect. Take a fit 18 year old vs. a fit 28 year old. It's crazy how the upper body can have that much of an effect, but it works on men as well as women. This subconscious effect is clearly embedded into our genes as, back in the day, we needed to know who was the Alpha and could bring home the bacon (so to speak). Just like big breasts, etc. But clearly this alone won't get you the girls.

Why do people work out? Just for attracting girls? That's a good motivation but I think a better motivation should be to stay fit. When you are 75, your joints and bones will be stronger than your next door neighbour who didn't lift weights in his younger days. You won't trip over a twig and be in the bed for a month or two if you squatted and deadlifted in your young age. Being strong now and when you are old should be the main motivation.Nobody messes with alphas coz they are friggin strong. Now you don't want anybody messing up with you, do you? If you can pull some chicks on the way, that's just extra.

Earlier the first time I went to the gym I used to do all the stupid isolation exercises, saw no results and quit. And gals were on my mind, I thought I could attract them with big biceps and stuff.Now I spend like 45 minutes or so in the gym. Now I do the heavy compounds, I am seeing results and the testosterone and confidence goes up like crazy.Now I don't give a **** about girls and chicks are automatically attracted. For me chicks are bonus. Main thing is I am getting stronger and confident and finally being a MAN. I realised that if I just be a man, I can get all the ass I want without resorting to some tips and tricks and sh!t. I used them initially and then I realised they are not important. Earlier I used to see some smart guy, I was scared. Now I am not that dumb myself, I usually finish in the top 10% of the class, I am talkin abt guys who finish in the top 1% or 2% of the class. But now I see they aren't some smart blessed by God-geeks. They just study a sh!tload. With my extra testosterone and confidence I know I can take on anyof them and get more marks than them. Plus the fact that I am gonna be stronger than them. And the endorphins relased from cardio, I automatically get sexual and stuff around chicks. Earlier it used to be a huge problem. Now I don't think all this would have happened if I had kept my sorry @$$ at home. If I did that I would be still think that the top guys are some smartarses or something and I could never beat them in studies.
