I don't like how marl picked on weightlifting for his point. I get it, sure, but it seems silly to pick on weightlifting in his example. Weightlifting requires rest which means you'll be doing something else other than weightlifting all the time. Its not proper weightlifting gains if you're making the mistake marl mentions.

Take two entrepreneurs who are in direct competition with eachother, place them at the head of equally good companies, give them equal intelligence, education, connections and financial backing. If one works out regularly and the other doesn't, the latter will get DESTROYED. I repeat: DESTROYED. If you've ever been at the head of a million-dollar corporation, you'd know that there is so much truth to this statement that arguing about its validity would be unthinkable.
Listen, I understand the advice that lifting weights has benefits, it certainly does, but to focus your entire life around it suggests you need to re-evaluate your priorities. Perhaps you're a victim of what this thread is trying to say?
Marlimus, weightlifting is ESSENTIAL for MASSIVE success in most areas of life.
Quoted again for comedy. Before you get into defensive mode perhaps just take a look in the mirror.

No one ever said anything about focusing my entire life on it. You're seeing things that aren't there and using them to feed your Excusitis.

Please elaborate then, rather than attacking me personally. That's just the vibe I got from your posts, is all. Looks like there's just lots of exaggeration going on then? Excusitis? For what? Did you just make that word up? :D
Here's another comedy quote
I can DEFINITELY tell you that you can NOT be TRULY successful with women unless you lift on a regular basis.
Did you really type that with a straight face? I'd like you to define "truly" in this context.

This is funny.

Whether or not weightlifting is "essential" to being successful with the ladies, well... it sure doesn't hurt.

To a point, that is. There's being in good shape, then there's being "ripped"... and I tell ya, a lot of girls are not into huge guys. A LOT.

It might depend on the kind of "ladies" you're talking about.

don't be f*cking stupid. I'm 6'0" and 140 pounds of pure skinny, and I get more beutiful ladies in a month then most guys get in their lives. Sure, having a perfect body helps, but to directly contradict what Krassus is saying, you DO NOT need to lift on a regular basis to be successful with women. I'm living proof. All you need is the ability to accept rejection for a couple months until you figure out what you're doing, and then you will completely transcend the whole idea of seduction. Getting laid almost becomes an inconvenience, because you actually have to take ten to twenty minutes out of your life to drive to Savemart and pick up some innocent cutie who's just trying to get her grocery shopping done, but would rather make a short detour to your apartment so you can f*ck her brains out. You'll also realize how little your wardrobe or hairstyle matters. I've been wearing the same two pairs of GAP jeans for the past three years, along with white Fruit of The Loom shirts that are sold in packs of ten at Wallmart. I feel sorry for the guys that spend sh*tloads of money on clothes or at the gym just to improve their "game." Work out for your health, or to stay in shape, but not for women. That just means you have some sort of insecurity complex, and p*ssy is the last thing you should be worried about.

Really sound advice, man, why don't you make a post about this? It could go into the Bible, seriously.
I totally agree, since I used to have many more girls APPROACHING AND INTRODUCING THEMSELVES TO ME, when I was 5'8 and 130 than now that I've gained more than 20 lbs. Was this because I was skinny or because girls are intimidated or something? NO. It IS NOT related to my body. It's just that I used to be all sexual and stuff and I WANTED girls approaching me. Now, I don't care anymore. I mean, I can't survive without fùcking for more than 7 days in a row, but I don't need the self-confirmation that comes with girls approaching you. I'm more self-confident and if this means that I have to work to have girls and I won't be approached so much often, well, so be it.

I also see girls prefering guys skinny.

Any muscular guys I see are weirdos who get made fun of because they look like they eat large quantities of babies for fun. I never ever see them with women.

It DOES NOT HELP with women. It will only hurt you.

Some of you guys I think are in the clouds with this ****.

Skinny is BETTER imo, as long as you don't have concave shoulders.

DBOT did make a post by the way I think about it being so easy to get women and a lot of guys not seeing how simple it is and trying too hard. I agree with that.

I used to be real skinny and when I started lifting and getting results it DEFFINATELY helped me with the ladies. I agree that over doing it is just stupid and there is no point of looking like a steriod freak. In a couple years I went from being 120 to 150 and gaining 30 pounds of muscle and it deffinately helped. Girls will feel my abs or arms through my shirt and get turned on, so I dont know how that can be bad. I think if you just keep everything equal like you dont have a massive chst with skinny arms it will be benefitial. Dont become a gym rat, but also respect your own body and work out and you will be healthier, happier, and your confidence will improve because you will look in the mirror and be able to say you look good.

I would really have to disagree. Skinny is attractive. But having muscles is better. Compare:

or

or

Girls like nice bodies. Which guy do you think the girl gets more turned on by? Which guy commands more respect from other guys? I mean, seriously, how can you say this? It's crazy.

Some women genuinely get turned off by muscles simply because IT PUTS THE GUY OUT OF THEIR LEAGUE!

Bigger is better, quit denying it.

You guys go on arbitrary, anecdotal evidence and its fvcking retarded.

Point is, you going the skinny route makes you kind of emo, and increases the likelihood that you'll end up with an AFC chick.

Is it a certainty? NO. But it is negative feedback working against you.

Take this example:

Skinny Guy with Money VS Poor, but Athletic Build Guy

This could go either way depending on the girl, but the key datapoint is these men both have flaws so the woman they attract may have low standards.

Skinny guys are secure defending their point with the Internet as a buffer, but when it comes to a skinny guy, an athletic guy, and a woman being in a room. If the guys are equal in all aspects the bigger, athletic guy usually wins out.

And I must add, even short guys benefit tremendously from bulking up. Compare a male gymnast at 5'6" to a 16 year old boy at 5'6". Who do you think gets more girls?

Girls say they don't like stocky. What they really mean is they don't like short. They'd take a short muscular gymnast over a short twig ANY DAY.

How come some of you assume everyone against being a massive boulder is skinny? Being "ripped" is definately better than being skinny, but you don't have to go overboard. Find the right balance, as a few of you have said.

Well if the guy who doesn't work out does nothing else with his time but stare at a wall while the other guy is working out, I can see how that would apply.

you skinny guys should keep telling yoursleves that muscles don't make a difference, it should help you sleep better

what is it like to live in a false world?

I can hear some of you jealous insecure boys now saying "that guy is so much bigger and stronger than me, what a loser" roflmao

LMAO! That's the saddest thing i've ever seen. I bet if you ask him his interests he'd say "women". If I was that big I wouldn't fit in a racing kart, would suck at most sports, and i'd probably break all my musical instruments by trying to play them. I'm out of this thread now before some braindead big guy beats me up! LOL (WORLD CUP TIME BABY!)

Maybe the guy is a little extreme. But it's clear proof for the muscular body concept. The guy is attracting HB10s. Imagine him without muscles. He wouldn't be getting those girls. He's only 5'9". HB7s would say, "he is too muscular." But HB10s are saying, "that's hot."

Just work out an hour a day. You don't have to be any less interesting or have an undevloped personality. But more than any other factor you can improve, muscles will increase the *physical* attractiveness of the girl you're going to get.

I honestly had more success with women BEFORE I started lifting, but there are a million different factors to consider before you make the assumption the these things correlate.

I think you guys are missing the point I was trying to make. Then again, on forums, threads have a way of veering off in their own direction. As far as attractiveness goes, I don't think that many women used to stare at my chest and feel up my biceps back when I had neither. At the same time, even if I lived in an Army barracks with no chicks I would still pump because it feels and looks good, its healthy, gives me energy, and on some level, inspires respect from other guys.

But back to my original post. Weightlifting can make you feel Alpha without actually doing anything to propel you up the ladder of success, so for every two hours you spend in the gym, spend an equal amount of time educating yourself or advancing financially, whether that means learning how to invest, exploring business opportunities, or increasing your earning capacity.

When you are old and can no longer maintain muscle mass, you can either have millions of dollars from time and money well invested, and still be in good shape, or you can be in good shape and have nothing to show for all those years except old pictures, dusty trophies, and misty-eyed stories of the man you used to be. All I'm saying is, think for the long term, and rememebr that muscles are not a source of revenue.

I'm not bashing bodybuilding, don't be crazy. I LOVE IT. I couldn't stop if i tried, I would start to get the itch. But know what your priorities are.

The other point that might be made is that there are various levels of working out.

I mean, if you read a lot of the bodybuilding programs on here, they are a LOT of work. Not just the actual working out, but all the calculating, and especially the meals. Six/Seven times a day?

I myself get good, confidence-building results from three one-hour workouts a week. I eat like crap, don't get enough sleep, and drink a lot. Now, my metabolism rocks, but still I'm looking pretty good for 31. If I just stayed working out, I could look just fine.

This pro/con workout argument is a little silly because we all know that being a larger guy is helpful with women, but we're talking all around that.

YES you can go out and work your butt off in the gym, but going too far (in my opinion) is only a detraction.

YES you can still be a PUA or a DJ or whatever while being 6'3" and 140 lbs... but it would be a lot easier if you put on some weight.
