benefits of a nice car?

Im not really sure what your expecting to happend if you get "just" a used BMW. I got a 2006 Mercedes CLK50K Kleeman and after having it for a year, i dont really know what you think will happend if you get a old bmw. Now, i don't know what kind of old bmw your going to buy, but atleast in my eyes, and in the eyes of most girls in the fashionable part of Oslo, Norway, no old BMW is going to get you laid.

Its nice to have nice things, and its definately atleast a subconcious pro if you roll up in nice car for a date, but the car alone will not get you laid, unless you go for some slum ghetto goldigger trash chick.

Whats really cool with having a nice car thought, imo, if you pick up a girl for the first time, and you totally havent bragged about your car, and she gets all suprised and thinks about how cool it is of you, not to be one of those car dudes. What i usually do is stand next to the crappiest car on the street when i pick a girl up on a first date, then when shes closing in to you, you move to your car, conviniently parked right next to the old car. She will go like "What are you doing?", your like, "Getting into my car, what does it look like im doing?" and they usually get a tad impressed =)

Some people mentioned that a car can give you self-esteem, and i would agree, i definately get a good feeling when i drive up to the university in a $200k car.

i'm not buying a new car. i'm gonna buy used and i don't want to spend more than $10,000. i was looking at a 3 series if i were to get the bimmer. i guess an older 3 series isn't too flashy.

A old $10k 3 series BMW isn't exactly going to give you many "benefits" unless you live in the ghetto.

You don't have to spend $10k to have a sporty car. I have a 95 Stealth that I bought for three grand and every chick has loved it so far. Plenty of 90's sports cars can be had on a budget: Stealths/3000GT, 300zx, RX7, Mustangs. $7-9 grand will get you a twin turbo 300zx or 3000GT VR4. Either of those cars will be faster than all but the very top of the line BMWs, and about as fast as those.

Bible belt. I had 2 nissan 300zx twin turbos. They 90's import sports cars are indeed are panty droppers. young girls are diggers and older chicks think you got your self together. When i was 16 i had a red 1990 nissan 300zx and a platinum silve one when I was 18, I told the *****es it was a ferrari. My home boy had an 91 toyota supra another had an rx7. Keep in mind that these are all old cars, so if you aren't into wrenching i would stay away from them cause they are hard to work on, very expensive and can be problematic. now I have an 87 Buick Grand national and an 85 Buick Grand National. It doesn't take much to beat a bmw, they are dog slow.

Dog slow is a big, big understatement when referring to bmws in general. they're a complete package car: they all have some get up and go to them( a zhp 330i does not drive like a 230hp car ),they handle phenomenal, they look nice and the quality, overall, is very nice. Plus if your into the whole tuning game, you can take an e36 m3 and make it have about 550rwhp.

You could have the fastest car in the world, under the shell of a ford escort, but 99,9% of all girls would prefer that nice merc or bmw coupe.

yeah bmws have relativly slow compared to 300zx twin turbo and supra twin turbo! I never said m3s didn't handle well, they do and they are great tourers. I said SPEED. Compare a M3 to a lt1 (93-97) firebird/trans-am or camaro, a 98-02 firebird or camaro. I won't even bring the vette up. Do you know how much $$$ it takes to build a street mannered 550hp m3? If you do build that kind of power, what about the tranny, the clutch, the drivetrain, driveshaft, rear end? do you think all that will hold up when they were built to withstand a measly 250-330hp? I am not into tuning, thats for kids, I build cars (take a car off its frame/sub frame). I like bimmers yes, but they r what they are...SLOW....and expensive.

You feel more confident when you know you have a nice ride to take a chick out in. I just got a new Altima and it looks good, but I got much more looks from babes in my 2001 325i. Bmw is a brand that people tend to associate with higher status.

an e46( the e92 v8s are about 420hp) m3 puts out 333hp. i'm not even gonna go into power delivery throughout the rpm band or gearing. an lt1 maro puts out 270hp, tt z's put out 280hp, and an mk4 tt supra puts out around 276hp. an e39(previous v8) m5 puts out 408hp. they're not slow cars.

If you only have 10K, go with newer/not as flashy a name. If chicks are what you are trying to impress, focus on "class" of the car over speed. As already said, a chick doesn't care how fast a car is.

My recommendation? VW Jetta; aka a poor man's beamer. Hopefully, you won't have to go too old to find one in your price range. VW has poor reliability ratings, so from a "buying a used car" perspective, that is just as much a good thing as bad because the prices are going to be lower for the used ones because of that.

I actually I disagree... A lot of girls would care about stuff like that. Material girls.

My sister told me how her and some of her girlfriends were at a club and some guy kept hitting on her trying to get her number but she kept blowing him off.
When they left the club that night to get into their car the same guy rolled up in some nice tricked out jeep, and then he said one last "c'mon let me get your number"... she didnt really want to but ALL her friends MADE HER go give it after they saw what he was driving.

I don't think its a deciding factor... I dont drive anything special. But girls DO care about that stuff for the most part... usually the hotter the girl the more wordly and vain... but isnt this common knowledge?

The Supra and Z are so popular in part because a $250 boost controller can double those hp numbers. It also cuts engine life to sh!t, but fast is not cheap.

If I can ever get the mechanic to finish it, I'm going to have a 91 300zx with a souped up LT1 V8 in it.

Get something that projects manliness like a muscle car, a truck, or at least something with a little class for example like what you said, a used beamer or benz or something to that effect.

I have a red 79 Trans Am, I am waiting to get on the road, when I get more money put in it.
I don't really watch TV much, and am not in the game like you guys are.
So I ask, what kind of impression is a car like that going to give? My two x girlfriends say they are highly not impressed by it. One is 20 the other is 35 years old.
So I don't know how much weight to give their opinions, but it is deflating.

Ya I paid $6k for the TA. It could use another $2k, plus an engine.
The financial decision with most impact is the woman you are with. That has cost me everything, ten times in a row. So I don't have much... and its a compound effect. My last girl is like,
"you don't have much for your age", and left me for a younger guy with more money.

Ya well I'm thinking that if I hadn't been "dating" for the past 18 years, I'd have a hell of a lot more to show. Just the cost of living single alone adds up.

So I'm kinda thinking 'fk it'. I'll not date until I get this money thing handled. I'll do like pook. Ignore the girls, build a body & life & money. It'll hurt for a couple of years.

I answered my own question, surfing the net. The reason that muscle car's used to get girls, is that they were financially out of reach of the typical female.

Now prices of mustangs, and the salaries of women make sports cars affordable. Classic cars, muscle cars, sports cars are not necessarily symbols of status... simply symbols of one form of masculinity.

The car that gets the women, like everything else, is likely to be the car that is out of her reach.

So my $6k TA is just not saying much.

I think I need to hibernate for a decade in self improvement.
