Am I boring? =O

Well, dress sense wise at least.

In my conversation with the Finnish lady last week, we somehow managed to get onto the subject of dress sense. And she said that my dress sense is boring.

Ouch.

Now, not one to ignore feedback, I'd like to ask opinions and remedies.

Well, some ladies prefer men who dress nice and clean. Some prefer men with gangsta style, some prefer men with some punk style, some prefer men with cowboy style, and some prefer gothic style. Ask yourself what ladies you like to attract and dress accordingly. Of course, I prefer to dress what I like and just go on my way.

It's the fact that both shirt and pants are black.

Just pick a different color shirt. Looks perfectly good to me.

EDIT: It's a neat look, though. You look like an outlaw from Gunsmoke or something....

Rule of thumb: Have at least 3 colors in your outfit.

And yeah, that dress sense is too boring simply because it shows your lack of taste in color. It's just too plain. All you did was find a black shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Let me guess, you're wearing black socks too? :crackup:

Next time ask her what is not boring and who dressing the way she likes and why. I like going around in all black sometimes, but it's good to accent it with a outstanding coat or shoes even a watch or something to catch the eye.

Some good jeans can make all the diffference.
Casual but classy is the look i try and go for, personally.

Layering goes a very long way. I always have an undershirt at the very least, and that's usually only when i am wearing a tee. Add vests, blazers, dress shirts, coats, but all in a casual way.
Color is a nice addition to wardrobes as well. White and black look fine with everything, sure, but it doesn't really stand out so much and is kind of bland. For the most part, i would avoid grey as well, as the color grey has a psychological impression of neutrality and passiveness. However, that's not to say go pink and crazy, just add color. Make sure the colors contrast your skin tone as well.
A nice pair of shoes goes a long way as well. Girls look at your feet when they look at you. Are you wearing trainers or sneakers? Then stop, because you shouldn't ever wear those aside from what they are made for. Get some loafers or slip ons, or some classy-ish dress shoes to wear around, and try and keep them clean.
Lastly, i'd say that accessories can do a lot for you as well. You can wear the same clothing again and again and no one will notice if you switch up the accessories or the like such as adding a different coat. Necklaces and bracelets are a good way to go. Some people wear scarves as well, but you don't strike me as a scarf person, nor a hat person.

Yah. ease up on the black. Loose the hat all together...it just doesn't look right on you.

In the second picture your stance has no swagger. You look like a school boy posing for a picture. Get you some manly swagger. That pic reminds me of some wanna be columbine killer.

It could be your body language as well as your attire that is putting off this vibe. You seem really stiff and uptight.

Hit the gym, or at least get some exercise in on a regular basis and get some color and swagger to your wardrobe.

That photo of me in the coat was actually a really poor attempt at posing a couple of years ago. I'm far more flambouyant than that photo suggests

I go to the gym regularly actually: 3 times a week most weeks (except this week, I'm going 4 times to make up for being busy having a LAN party last week)

Also, I've decided that I'm going to go clothes shopping this weekend. See If I can get a few shirts with some colour in them
