Calling her too soon has nothing to do with the options that you perceive she has, it's because you are searching for validation that she's still interested in you. If the girl was a 6, you'd probably wait a week, maybe two. Maybe you wouldn't even call her again. If she was that repulsive, you probably didn't even make a move on her to begin with it. Guess what? That behavior only increases a woman's interest in you. Now if the girl was a 9, people say it wouldn't work and you'd fall in the friendzone. You know why? Because they want instant verification that the hot woman likes them, so they make a move right away to find out. It's needy. It's based out of insecurity. They're not confident enough to play it cool, make the woman's mind wonder where HIS interest level is, which is what creates more attraction.
You have to get a woman's emotions invested FIRST. So many guys don't understand this. Making a move on her right away, and trying to get physical doesn't spark attraction. I'm going to repeat that:
Making a move on her right away, and trying to get physical doesn't spark attraction.
I think this advice largely stems from dating coaches with an agenda trying to sell you something. One thing I can tell you, is that less is ALWAYS more with women. But that advice doesn't sell. Telling you to get closer, rub her arm, go for the kiss close, all sound good in theory... but it communicates too much interest too quickly, and will scare most women off. These coaches HAVE to tell you to take action, so you feel you're getting value out of what they're trying to sell you. They further reinforce this by telling you lack of action will land you in the friendzone, which is not true. Like the one poster said, coming off too strong is what's going to land you in the friendzone. Think about it. How many women have said "He's mysterious, didn't make a move so I wasn't sure if he was interested, wasn't all over me like every other guy. There's something different about him. So I'm going to friendzone him."
Said no woman ever.
