advice: don't buy david deangalo's stuff

That sums it up fairly well. I listened to the first 10 minutes of the "Approaching Women and Starting Conversations" thing and couldn't take it anymore. He kept telling the guys that women are sick of them, that they think they're invisible, that they come off as freaks, etc. I was like "man, that's some serious psychological damage right there."

I've gotta disagree. If you go through his mastery or advanced series, it starts off what is seemingly slow, but after I got my DJ mindset down pat and **** and I went back just to see what he was talking about, he's talking more than just about women. He's talking about getting life handled, its hard to listen when you are only in it for techniques and ****, but once you get past that and really listen to what's being said, it takes on a whole new meaning.rocco said:

He bought self-help/self-improvement programs, NLP, genetics, sperm wars, sex books, tantra, and the list goes on, and then summarized it into one system for the guy to easily pick up. Even his lisp isn't bad to listen to on the original CD's. He brings together what he learned through reading, into one system, so the guy wouldn't have to buy ALL the books he bought, go through ALL the failures he went through, and use ALL the experience David D.
It was the first system I bought, and I believe the last. I did buy the books he suggested, and read them through often. It helps to ingrain much of what does yield success.
His more recent popularity pushed him to create products that aren't as IMPACTFUL as his first system. Which makes sense, rarely are sequels as great as the first. His widespread popularity with "geeks" in his videos discredits him somewhat, but what else do you think is the target market for such products? It certainly wouldn't be PORN STUDS. If you can find the 1st free or discounted, it's worth hearing it.
****y and Funny is the basic program for high school and college kids. There should be a supplementary system showing his evolution as PUA, and not going down the rabbit hole of MORE C&F. For the evolved man, who will try to lay 25 year olds, or older, you need Charming and Aggressive, or some similar-type program.
There is a decided difference btw the mentality of a 25 yr and a 20 yr old, also her "mood" depends on her settings. Some girls who are 30 will respond well to C&F in a bar, during a holiday event, a party, or similar lax circumstances. Whereas, if you meet a semi-professional woman in a professional atmosphere, and you come across immature, then you're likely to blow totally up. Poker is a great hobby at discerning different thoughts and situations.

David D has begun recycling his information. His newer stuff falls under the category as "same 5hit, different package".
I have to respectfully disagree. C/F worked well for me with women who were 22-35 years old, but didn't work very well on the 18-21 year olds.
Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

The Advanced and Mastery series were worth it. ****y comedy was okay but not that great, the actual coverage of C&F was not enough to make an entire program so they filled it out with some inspirational stuff. (which wasn't bad). 77 laws - pretty crappy.

I have to say David D's programs were an excellent supplement for me when I was going through the DJ bible.
I wanted to dig deeper beyond Pook's interpretation of what it meant to be a man and looked to David's Deep Inner Game and On Being A Man programs for further meaning. Reading the books he recommended really helped me understand why all the dating and pick-up life matters in the big picture of life. Ultimately, in the end he gives the audience his prospective as to what women want us growing men to become and behave.
I always crack up when he goes into his "Don't Be A Wuss" pep-talks. Which to him is the death of the AFC.
I've heard the interview series with dating gurus are usually excellent, but I don't have the cash to shell out more money for them.
You have to give David D credit for uniting all the experts together on his programs to talk about dating and social mastery - just like Cliff does with his convention where he gathers all the experts to discuss pick-up.
The only thing I wouldn't recommend is subscribing to the newsletters. He tells you what not to do or be, but it comes off like a harsh father giving his diliquent son a "wake the f*** up" talk. I sometimes feel he's good at explaining and giving an answer, but as soon as you're about to get, you have to buy a program to get the final piece in the puzzle.
Mastery is a long program, but have heard many great things. C0cky Comedy was a waste of time for me personally.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

actually i've found david deangelo's stuff to be quite helpful. in fact its allowed me to build on myself to the point where i can have a girl be honest about things and not like FREAK out or get all retarded on her. the greatest part of it is that it really teaches you to work on yourself and focus on what makes you happy, then once you have your life figured out, you can naturally be picky with the girls you want to meet. he essentially teaches you to be the parts of a man that women would regard as maturity or what they find attractive about older guys.
for me i've noticed that it can be a big thing and that women do expect more. essentially you're being a true man to yourself if you take care of your appearance, you have your purpose in line with your life, you don't stray from who you are and what you do with your life for her sake, you know how to have fun and when to be responsible and that you can essentially handle whatever comes at you. take those aspects and being able to handle a relationship without being a goon and although they'll test, you'll be ready for it. and you win by being a man. either she comes out on top with you or you come out on top with someone else. that's where david d eventually takes you and that really is attractive to women.
outside of being sexually attractive and or further ahead in the game(being able to be a bad boy on top of all that other stuff), i've noticed this shift came from his materials and that it helped me to become secure enough with myself to handle being casual with multiple girls and be ok with them being casual with other guys. and listening to his stuff and reading his recommended books have all helped me to achieve this.

And onto point 3, his advanced and mastery series is basically an expansion of this site. He talks about being a man in all ways, following your purpose, etc etc.

Like A-Unit said, his original stuff was great. I also liked the pua interviews. But in some of the "advanced" material he gets in over his head with the science aspect. The guy is an ex-Realtor, not a research scientist, sociologist, or historian.
I discovered DeAngelo about a year ago. I have yet to see a "dating guru" with better stuff on inner game. He opened my eyes. And then a few months ago, I found this site. I'm currently reading through DJ Bible. Let me tell you, nothing much new in it for me. Especially posts on attitude, mindset - inner game in general - I heard it all from David D before. There's even one post of his (copied from alt.seduction I think) in The Bible.
There's a lot of criticizm of him on this site. I think this is because people misinterpret some things he says. These things are guidelines, not rules. They should be adapted if situation require so. As far as C&F is concerned... I almost don't use it. To me, if you have proper, confident body language, have good vibe and are generally cool AND are C&F on top of all that, you will come across as a man who is in love in himself and even though she's attracted, that will push her away from you. So the tigher your game, the less of C&F you should use. But it's a great technique for newbies, just don't go overboard.
So, if you read through DJ Bible, you don't need David's stuff. If you rather listen or watch than read (but you'll still have to make notes!), get Advanced Dating Techniques and Mastery Program. Deep Inner Game is also good, that one is for all areas of life not just about women. David D is actually just host, Dr. Paul does most of the talking. Other programs are just old material in new package.

All good points. David D has some good ideas but a lot of generic, abstract and hard to digest material which tends to be repetitive. Sometimes goes overboard with the "challenge" and "****iness" ideas.
I found one little program to be quite amazing - both VERY practical and very different from many others and cheap too! Check out powerful pick-up. It's by Arkady Itkin. He posted a few of his articles on here that you can find and read. Otherwise google him and check out "Powerful Pick-Up" - good stuff.
