i think it has to do with deangolo's voice. it's very monotonic and lacks enthusiasm, and he goes into these overly complex diagrams explaining simple emotions. his guest, dr.paul, looks like a real geek, and i think he even gave some star trek references during his lecture.

Second, ****y and funny is not a technique, its supposed to be a mindset and something that IS you, not something YOU do. ****y and funny isn't always about busting on the girl, you can say **** about other things, people, etc, its never going to be hurtful, always in good spirit, I do it because I like to tease and have fun with people, not because I need to think about it. Reading his stuff (the original DYD ebook) was one of the worst things that happened to my "game." I must have been already doing the obvious stuff that makes sense. One should not try to be "****y and funny." If it comes naturally, run with it, but if not, don't force it, or you'll just come across as an immature azzhole, and the damage done may be irreparable, at least as far as your interaction with some individuals goes.
I disagree with the poster of this thread. David D's stuff has been really helpful to me, especially his "Attraction Isn't A Choice" book. The second chapter of that book is pure money, especially for someone who's new to the game. The more I think about it, it's more about being completely comfortable in who you are as a person, and getting rid of self-doubts, which is what David D's materials help teach (EXPERIENCE is the best teacher). I couldn't do Mystery Method; I hate thinking that everything coming out of my mouth is a pre-fabricated script.

I understand why you'd say that but face it, someone can see something with their own eyes and it still wouldn't make a difference. Take AFCs, they make the same mistakes over and over again. They watch women walk into and out of their lives time after time yet they keep doing the same things over and over again. His stuff is the same **** recycled over and over again, so just get the advanced or mastery series.
His good hygiene tips are either over the top, sensable, or too femmy.
His insights/tips are available from other systems with different nomenclature.
His stuff is basically marketed to the geek pool of underated, above-average IQ getters who never learned who to be successful with women and are looking for a psuedo-scientific explanation of how attraction works.

David D is trying to help you become a better man overall in the way you see yourself, dating, relationships etc...not some fly by night technique for picking up women. Like myself he spends time researching things to find out why and how they work not just the fact that they work. I remember going to Barnes and Noble and buying a big book on the brain just to read the section on Love and Relationships and the chemicals involved. And then buying a hardback book on body language and such. This stuff fascinates me! David is not the most charismatic or flamboyant character out there but he's well organized and well read.
Someone asked about the Mystery Method DVD. Its pretty good, pretty much everything you can read in his Venusian Arts handbook. Its top notch for pickup 'in field' work but its very linear, a 1,2,3,4.... process. Meaning newbies will have a hard time if they get stuck on a particular part of the process and try to think too much. You should have natural charm and charisma if you want to use the MM
