I can't argue with anything you said. There has been a major confusion of sex roles the past 30 years or so. On one hand, men are supposed to be tough, strong, aggressive, take all the initiative, do all the work, yet at the same time be sensitive, caring, able to read women's minds, and so on...

I guess it boils down to wanting what you don't have & taking for granted what you do have or know you can get. If you're alone, you want the girlfriend. If you're overweight, you most want to be thinner. If you're on your own & unemployed for a while, getting a job is #1, & so on.

What if her intuition detects that you're just pretending to have doubt? It seems like if she could perceive real doubt, she could also perceive fake doubt.
