But most guys complement on how they look, not something they are wearing or have to spend money on. Yeah, it could backfire, but it's better than what most other guys do. I'll probably try it out a few times within the next couple of weeks. And if it works, why not stick with it.

I think it would do both to a point. If you don't let them know you can tease, their IL will not be good. Plus, if they know you are teasing and still don't open up, then their not going to have any interest anyway, so you have the chance to move on and make the best of your time.
