I would throw a joke at her and wait on her response. If she's serious I'd tell her that she can leave if she wants, but if she's playing she'll throw a joke back you or will submit to whatever you want to do.

I don't think it's possible unless you let her know from the start that you won't be her crying pillow. You also have to remind her often that you can escalate at any time.
