How early is retiring very early to you?
The only issue is that reaching FIRE(Financial Independence Retire Early) is that it would either require an exorbitant amount of time at work to achieve, and/or living on an extremely lean budget. They would have to make those sacrifices while young...
Oh, just realized: if you don't mind me asking, what was your credit score around the time you were able to refinance those loans? I have never missed a payment, but my credit is fvcked right now because of the high credit card usage and all of these hard pulls. It can't hurt to see, but I...
This is my goal. I think that as long as I continue to study and change jobs, $200K salary is completely realistic. I could live on less than half of that. That's basically a FIRE investment rate.
Of course, this is way way down the road. Right now, I don't even have a financial base and I have...
I think that if I get very intense about this, I should be able to clean up this whole mess within a year or two. I've already been getting my 401K match, so that is good. As long as I turn my focus to investing within the next couple years maximum, I should be on track.
Out of curiosity, who...
It is BAD, I think I've made it up to $80K in consumer debt. A big chunk of that was for my education and car at the very least. I don't have to become 100% debt free, I just need to eliminate the toxic high-interest debt that is keeping me from investing, and have a safety net so I can have...
I realized I never elaborated on the tooth issue. The problem was I had recently changed jobs, and my dental insurance wouldn't have kicked in until I worked the job for a month. Right after that, I cracked my tooth. Murphy's law lol. Without insurance, that would've been a very hefty bill, but...
I'll take the million. In a lot of ways, life is better as an adult lol. There were definitely many things I could have done better in my childhood, but I'm still more than ok with the way that things turned out.
Yes, on the next date I go on, I'll ensure that I put myself in a good spot and attempt to pull back.
A couple questions I've thought of after reflecting on these dates some:
1.) I realize that you need to be persistent when going for the pull(@SW15 Roosh has a really good section about this...
I said that he's very controversial, but he says a lot of stuff that people don't want to hear lol. Like you need to get in the gym, make moere money, etc.
If I really wanted to max out my income to clean up this mess, then I would
Consolidating my debt with a credit union would be great. I just wonder if, with my trash credit right now(due to the ran up credit cards) if they’d approve me. I don’t think I qualify for too many 0% interest credit...
Really, what's stressing me out is the credit cards/personal loans and lack of a fully-funded emergency fund. I guess the car loan too, but that is fine for the time being because reliable transportation is mandatory.
Once I get rid of those issues, I'm fine. Having student loans and a car loan...
I will respond to all of the messages in this thread, but very briefly wanted to touch on this point before my break is over.
No interest in upgrading my living costs. Getting rid of this debt trumps that because having all of these payments is so stressful. I would get a roommate before I...
Yeah, other than the basic starter emergency fund of $1K, sounds like the credit cards need to be the very first thing to go. Not only is having them around wrecking my credit, but when the next emergency comes up I can always just put it back on the credit card like you were saying.
Definitely not worried about the student loans. Although they are not the best interest rate since they're private, they pale in comparison to the credit cards and personal loans.
I think the credit cards take precedence over the personal loans too, since they are the main thing dragging my...
Can I keep my ACloudGuru? I do have interest in getting another certification lol. Spotify does have to stay too because otherwise I won't be able to be productive. I can cut Hulu though.
I can reduce the alcohol. Honestly, not spamming energy drinks like I have been will make a significant...
To be fair, I have only had the $120K job for a couple of months lol. As for where the $75K went, it was to vacations and a bunch of sh*t that I couldn't afford.
I should also mention that there are some personal loans in the mix.. I was truly out of control haha. I lump that all together with...
Yes, I do felt that I did all that I could on this date. I'm glad that I'm at least running them properly it seems.
This was mistake on my part. The cafe I went to had more of a late night dinner/coffee vibe than I was expecting. To be fair, I had never been there before and this was somewhat...
Yes, I think you’re right. If I have all of my time and resources going towards this software job, I’m sure I can perform well at it.
I’m putting away money into my emergency savings and paying down on my debt each month. I’m hoping it will grow faster than the rate at which life throws...
