    1) Inflation is caused by an expansion in the money supply or credit. Who regulates this? Yes, that's right, not private banks. Economics 101 on open market operations (money supply) and reserve requirement ratios (credit). 2) Federal Reserve decisions are controlled by their board...

It seems that Greece is getting the fvck out of Europe

Yeh, Greece is heading into chaos. They lived beyond their means for way too long and now that it's time to take the pain, they don't want to. Spain, Italy, Portugal next. Europe is heading down the plughole until they break down this rediculous half baked currency union.

Private banks don't control inflation. That is called a central bank and that is the Government (people).

    Kentucky Derby

Which is Frankels little brother name? Yeh, More Joyous is having a cracker at the moment, absolutely eased past some top quality horses including Americain in her last race. She is going to be hard to stop in the Cox Plate, but races too high distance to ever race BC. She is more of a...

Apparently Hay List was looking at going to the Breeders Cup but now looks like he will never race again. Big disappointment. Look out for Atlantic Jewel also, a horse that perhaps next year could take Black Caviar after she likely wins at Royal Ascot.

Starting college at 24: Yay or Nay?

24, your still a kid. You have no children/mortgage or committments, which would make the decision one you would have to weigh up. But at this point, you are young, if you want to do something, do it. Don't look back and wonder what could have been. Ever.

All fair points. This is why Government policy is so important, so it is not 'wasted' as such on outright bludgers.

The Government is part of the cycle but has more immediate options than the private sector because the Central Bank is more likely to continue to print money and buy Government debt at auction. It also helps most US debt is denominated in their own currency. There comes a point though, where...

I actually own a hedge fund and I get to see all that is wrong with the world every day, including arrogant people like yourself that think you made your money yourself, without realising it was the system around you, which can easily be overthrown once it becomes disorderly. Your mindset...

I think it's fine. You make your millions, but you need the masses to do so or there is no way you could make your money to begin with. It's fair to expect to be taxed at a high rate, you still live far beyond the average joe and you help contribute back into those who allow you to make your cash.
