Philadelphia and the Super Bowl, worth checking out, or a likely clusterf***?

Being from Wilmington, our "hometown" team is the Eagles. This year, in 2 weeks, the Eagles will be playing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Now I don't watch football, or any sports in general - personally I find them to be a very lengthy distraction and waste of time where a lot of people vicariously base their happiness around whether or not "their team" wins. Having played in high school, I just can't bother to spectate.

Anyway, it doesn't matter whether I care, it matters whether everybody else cares. I recall the last time Philadelphia won the Super Bowl that it was absolute madness (in a good way) everywhere in the city that night.

I have a couple friends considering hosting a Super Bowl party. I couldn't care less about the game, but I'm wondering if it would be a good night to go out and see some more women...or if it would just jam-packed with drunk dudes wearing their favorite jerseys.

What do you guys think?

I used to watch spectator sports more before I realize that it was a waste of time and a strong indicator of beta male status.

I've been a long time player of sports and gym weight lifter and that's useful in attraction/seduction.

We had a good thread about whether watching football and collegiate/professional sports in general was a complete waste of time in this thread.

I have a good thread about Super Bowl parties and my experiences with them below.

In my experience, sports watching can be a bit of a penis blocker with getting laid.

During sports watching events, people can get too wrapped up in the game and not focused on conversations that can lead to either same night sex or a first date later that could lead to sex.

I have experienced this at alumni events surrounding college football and college basketball games. I stopped going to the alumni events that were game watchings for this reasons. There are other alumni events that don't involve sports watching.

The Super Bowl in public venues could be similar to my alumni events but on a larger scale.

Super Bowl parties in private residences might be worthwhile if the people attending are not already in couples.

I think you have a better chance of it being a complete clusterfucck. Also, the Chiefs are favored to win the Super Bowl against the Eagles. If that happens, it could diminish the mood, especially if the Eagles lose a closer game.

Too damn cold. The last couple weekends have been in the teens and low 20s, otherwise I'd agree.
I know. I don’t live too far away from Delaware so I’m aware of how cold it currently is outside. Yet it was packed with girls (lot of them deciding to go out without a jacket) when I went out this past Friday

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

I might take a look this weekend before the Super Bowl weekend then. It looks to be in the higher 30s and low 40s so I could manage that to do some recruiting.

Colder temperatures can affect seduction possibilities.

Why would they go without a jacket? I thought a lot of places in that region had coat checks for that.

That's better.

This upcoming weekend could be a good weekend for seduction because the game won't interfere with the atmosphere in nightlife venues in Philadelphia.

OP there's a good chance for a pissed-off crowd. The refs are well-known for "favoring" (cough cough) the Chiefs the past few years.

not in my college town. if you were to bring one and wanted to take it off, you'd have to lay it in some corner and hope no one would run off with it (or you forgetting where you left it in your drunken state).
Even if there were a coat check, it's one of those things kids don't want to waste their money on. with their already limited spending money. Why you'll see 7-8 college girls packed into one taxicab

Don't go...serious football fans who will be the majority there honestly highly dislike people not into the game who randomly show up to these things and pretend to care or know what's going on, or even worse have no clue what's going on. Even more so when it's their team playing in it.

You will have a good chance of starting a fight by trying to talk while people are watching the game and will be told to "shut the F up" or go somewhere else.

I don’t mean to be judgmental but you don’t understand Philly culture whatsoever. There is no bigger possible reason for Philly to be out partying at any age and throw reservations to the wind than Philly being in the Super Bowl. It should be the single easiest day of the year for a Philly person to get laid. I would under no circumstances be anywhere but a bar like chickies and Pete’s or somewhere similar

To clarify, I'm not looking to run game DURING the game. I'm wondering if it's worth going out there AFTER the game. The game itself will probably run until 10 or so, in which case I wouldn't want to be out that early anyway.

So? Does everything you do have to result in sex or it isn't worth doing?

I agree spectator sports tend to be a waste of time though. But if it's a sport you play, you can watch it to pick up tips. Over the years I've cut back from following most sports, although I still follow my favorite NFL team, as it is something I felt like I bonded with father over. He passed away when I was still a teenager.

For me the primary goal is enjoying the event. Meeting women is always a byproduct.

Not everyone who watches the SB is into the sport so just go out and have a good time if you want. But it's like New Year's, Halloween, and Carnival. Lots of drunks and partying but the focus is on fun. I think targeting large scale events for romance is too limited. Make the effort and seize opportunities every day while enjoying life. A random Thursday night at a chill wine bar will probably have better opportunities than a big event.

I would if I lived there but not planning to now. You should be there in the afternoon before kick off making friends through the game if you do.

that would be my primary motivation for going out there.
There are many times where my primary motivation for leaving home is to find sexual options. I am able to identify with @BPH on this.

This is valid at times.

I have played tennis for a good portion of my life. I have watched some of the action from the major tournaments. In theory, it can help. In reality, the best thing to improve in tennis is time on the court either in practice sessions or in real matches. I like watching the French Open or Wimbledon Finals while working out. I won't watch the whole match but it's good to do a longer workout session on a weekend morning when those matches are live (due to the time difference with Europe in the USA). Some years, I will be on the stationary bicycle while that happens when I focus more on a TV set than lifting weights. That's not a terrible thing to do.

I recreationally swim laps as well. I have never found watching Olympic swimming helpful in making me a better swimmer.

The vast majority of Super Bowl viewers and NFL watchers in general are not youth/high school level football players. They are adult males who may or may not have not been high school football players.

A typical NFL game takes 3-3.5 hours to complete. The Super Bowl takes close to 4 hours to watch in part due to longer halftime entertainment.

For typical Sundays, there are better uses of time than watching the NFL for 3+ hours. I get a lot of stuff done on typical NFL Sundays while beta males (often married beta males) are on the couch.

I have watched some Super Bowls but skipped 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls. I'm likely to skip again this year. My quality of life has not been affected by not watching the most important pro football game of the year.

It is easier to keep my food consumption healthier when I don't watch the Super Bowl at a social gathering. That's also better for me in terms of attraction/seduction.

I remember a few years ago the Super Bowl was in my town and they jacked the prices up 300%-500%. Hotels were overbooked, AIRBNB's people were paying up to 10K a night, and bars that usually don't charge covers charged a $100 cover. Also, it was cold AF -30 below zero without the windchill. Needless to say I stayed away from the downtown area it was a rip off.

My only suggestion OP is to find a bar that is busy but not to close to downtown because you're going to be paying premium even in a 10-20-mile radius.

IMO it's just not worth the hassle

I watched a couple games the last couple of weeks but basically have checked out of football. I played in high school, I was a linebacker and a quarterback but I preferred defense. The environment that surrounds the pro game is what most people draw to. The game itself is background to the party. I grew up attending games every home game in New York since the age of seven. I’ve pretty much seen it all and how’s it’s evolved.

That’s why I am giving the specific advice I am giving. Mix Philadelphia, a city that has almost zero morale, majorly working class and has almost nothing going for it,( except football and a statue of a fictional boxer ) with the birds being in the Super Bowl, and the deep drinking culture in Philly and the game itself. It’s the best way to approach. I would do it if down there the way I am outlining.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.
