@Pandora you bring up a lot of good points, however, I have tried what you have done but ran into roadblocks. How would you recommend I (or anyone considering going abroad) overcome them:

A lot of these countries where the cost of living is cheaper come with significant problems. Major corruption, health services are poor at best and if you have any more serious medical condition you may be completely doomed in terms of treatment options, schools are of questionable quality at best, food is increasingly becoming americanized as well.

The justice system will not do anything but screw you over if you don't have connections or aren't willing to bribe people.

Your income being much smaller, you are sacrificing your freedom for the future if things go downhill as well. Your ability to provide for your family on a lesser income is compromised significantly too.

I do not have enough net worth to live passively off of investments, so finding some sort of online income is the best way to earn enough, but that is quickly drying up as well with many companies mandating return to office.

Further, going anywhere that is not an individualist society like the united states makes it difficult to integrate. People are more distrustful of strangers and people outside their immediate social circles. Making friends to actually have people to go out with is much tougher. Further, women are more inherently distrustful of you as a foreigner in their country, even if you manage to become fairly fluent in the language.

I know this Canadian guy—white, grew up with a tough childhood. His dad left him and moved to the Caribbean, his mom died young, and he had financial struggles. To keep his business afloat, he even committed insurance fraud. On top of that, he's a bit of a womanizer or a “wh*re”. Somehow, he managed to build connections in different countries, especially during his vacations. His best friend married a Mexican as well so they went down there a lot. One of his stories involved visiting a girl in Venezuela, where he believes he may have been roofied in a restaurant, though he's not entirely sure. Either way, he always been having women around and speaks Spanish fluently.

Anyway, he was married to a Mexican woman and had a son here, but he divorced her when she started bringing her family into their home. Now, he's in Acapulco, where he apparently married another woman from a wealthy, politically connected family, and he's stayed there ever since.

The point is, it seems there are two paths you can take:

A. Move to a foreign country, immerse yourself in the culture, and build your own business to become successful and self-sufficient.

B. Find a woman who can take you under her wing, introduce you to her network, and show you the ropes. While this may not always be the most honorable route, it requires a certain level of game and character to pull off. Just be wary of getting involved with women from rough backgrounds, such as ghetto or sketchy ones like cam models, as they can often hold you back.

My wedding to the girl is next month. It will be in her country. I already met her. We dated for years.

I outlined how I meet these international women. Language apps are very good for this. You talk online then you fly to their country. I am 100% no flakes yet.
