Women are cooped up and bored and the heat makes people show skin when they're outdoors. Personally and anecdotally from others, the heat can make you a little horny.

That being said, this going from highs of 110 to 70 in one month is a giant load of bullsh1t.

I know, bullsh1t indeed. The most comfortable season is somewhere in the middle.

On that note, have you noticed the past 2 Springs have been cooler than usual (highs in the 60s have lingered into March and even April)? (And then, of course, the Summer heat rapidly comes)

Heterosexual women receive an ego boost each time a man/multiple men give them attention. "Provocative" attire is a sure-fire way of achieving that goal. None of this is especially mysterious, especially compared to questions such as "Why is Grey's Anatomy still going here in '24?"

They enjoy the attention. It's true in Phoenix during the warmer months and other settings.

"Provocative" attire is a sure-fire way of achieving that goal.

The warm weather for at least 6 months of the year helps with women wearing less clothing.

Many women in Phoenix stay in good shape because they know they'll be wearing less clothing for about half the year.

I have one main complaint about this place. All in all though, there's hardly anywhere else that fits my criteria of where to live.

You bring up a good point. Visiting the Phoenix area vs. living there are 2 very different experiences.

The Phoenix area can be fun to visit in the winter months. It's fun to go hiking in the middle of the day on a 72 degree sunny day in January. There are other good outdoor activities to do on a vacation during the winter such as playing golf or playing tennis.

Flying into Phoenix and then going up to see the sights in Northern Arizona like Sedona and the Grand Canyon can also be enjoyable in the non-summer months.

Living in Phoenix isn't nearly as fun as visiting Phoenix. Someone who lives in Phoenix soon learns that there aren't a lot of good corporate jobs in Phoenix. The quality of jobs isn't impressive for a city of its size. This was the biggest reason why I moved away.

Dealing with the relentless heat from May-September isn't fun either.

Getting to the ocean isn't that difficult when living in Phoenix.

Many Phoenix area residents go to San Diego beaches in the warmer months. The same thing happens to a lesser extent with Los Angeles and Orange County coastal areas. San Diego seems to be the main beach destination for Phoenix residents though. San Diego is about a 5-5.5 hour drive from Phoenix if traffic cooperates.

Puerto Penasco in Mexico is about 3.5 hours away on the Gulf of California. Puerto Penasco is more popular with college students than the post college crowd.

The Phoenix crowd that tends to go to San Diego in the warmer months are people in established relationships and sometimes with families. Unattached Phoenix bachelors don't tend to randomly go to San Diego, unless they have a good social circle.

Visiting the Phoenix area vs. living there are 2 very different experiences.

The combination of dealing with a weak job market for a city of its size and women with bad attitudes isn't a pleasant combination in Phoenix.

It's easier to date in Phoenix if you're not reliant upon the swipe apps or meeting people on the various bar scenes in the area (Old Town Scottsdale, Central Phoenix, Tempe, etc.).

Settling in Phoenix as an adult is easier under the following conditions. The more that apply to you, the better.

1. You grew up in Phoenix or in another part of Arizona. This will help with your social circle connections around Phoenix, and would reduce your reliance on the bar scene or swipe apps.
2. You went to Arizona State, University of Arizona, or another college that has a strong alumni base in Phoenix. Arizona State and University of Arizona are colleges with the best alumni base in Phoenix and good alumni groups in the city. This also helps reduce reliance on bars and swipe apps.
3. You are 6'0"+ with a fit/muscular physique. In that case, items #1 and #2 probably are irrelevant to you. If you are rich enough, #1 and #2 might not matter, but few men have enough money to make #1 and #2 irrelevant.
4. You tend to like fitness activities. This is the least important, but seems to help.

Exactly. It's a looooooong f-cking drive to get to the ocean

Therein lies my other objection to throwing up my tent in Phoenix. Culturally speaking, it's still a hick town in many respects

This is true.

The Phoenix area did not grow until air conditioning became readily available. It wasn't considered a major US metropolitan area until the 1970s-1980s. There's not a long history of it being a major population center as compared to New York, Philadelphia, Boston, or Chicago. Los Angeles and San Francisco on the West Coast were major metropolitan areas long before Phoenix.

In many ways, Phoenix has the worst elements of a lower population area (culturally speaking, still a hick town and a lower quality job market) and the worst elements of a bigger city (traffic, rude/superficial people).

That can always help, but few people can achieve that. I also don't think personality matters as much anywhere as looks or money.

A guy with an interesting vibe/personality without any real connections will still have to approach a lot/swipe a lot. That's not going to be fun.

A bar approacher who (per his own admission) isn't suited for bar approaches.
