Does anyone feel like the whole "cougar" phenomenon is more based on a guy's looks than his actual age?

I read this somewhere when browsing reddit but felt the need to post it on here. One guy I actually know from my old neighborhood I grew up in is 24 years old but he is really skinny, wears oversized clothes, thin-frame glasses, has acne, and is pale as heck. He is dating a woman in her 40s who is chubby and not the best looking. I actually said when I was with some friends that she is a "cougar". Well, I got a lot of weird looks for it.

Mind you, these are friends who are politically incorrect so I was surprised at first. Then two of them said "dude, the whole "cougar" thing is only true if like he is hot and she happens to be hot too but look like she is somewhat older than him".

Meanwhile, there is a guy that I used to know at my old workplace who is 35 and dating a woman who is 48. She is porn MILF gorgeous and he is good looking but since he is mixed (black and white), he has also aged well, am I right @CornbreadFed? She is a pale brunette but looks real hot. Even though he is 35 which is way past the acceptable range for a guy to be with a "cougar" since men over 30 are considered old in society, people regularly say that she is a "cougar" and even comment on it even though he is not the age of man that a cougar would hunt.

Now that I think about it, I kind of see it that way too even though I didn't notice it.

Is anyone else realizing this?

Who the hell cares?

He likes traditional women, not a fan of tattoos or piercings - Plain Jane.

He likes his women a little curvy, doesn't like his women rail thin - Chubby Chaser.

She likes guys who are in shape, most of them tend to be younger and more active - Cougar.

People have their preferences. I've noticed that most of your posts aren't asking for help, or offering advice, but stating your thoughts and asking for an opinion. Are you looking for validation of your preferences and habits?

This went viral just recently. This topic i mean.

The REAL reason is that the dating market is crooked, mostly in favor of women. Nothing can make a person feel younger than having a younger partner.

I've seen multiple profiles where women (35 and up) sat they specifically want younger men. On top of that most of these men stand zero change with women they're own age.

Tbh, this happened to me as well especially online. I noticed throughout the years that more and more older women matched with me, while I grew up with the idea that once you hot 30 all those younger women want you...so much for the promise that the male wall will guarantee a man younger punani..

Long story short: those men get what they can get, and nowadays that means mostly older women..

I think it's not so much older men, but emotional self-control they are looking for. These days, precious few men under 30 have the level of maturity women are looking for, many of them are still teenagers in adult bodies.

Theoretical concepts don't play out in the real world neatly 100% of the time.

A 'cougar' is a woman who pursues sexual relationships with men 10+ years younger. She may or may not initiate the interaction, but she's receptive if the man is the initial initiator.

The stereotype of a cougar is an attractive early 30s - early 50s woman with a 10+ year younger man who is often reasonably good looking. He's at least average or slightly better than average looking. In terms of the concept, you might see a guy who is a 6-7.5 and is 18-24 have sex with an attractive 35-50 year old because attractive near his own age are overlooking him. This is possible because women have abundance. There have been research studies that have shown that women consider up to 80% of men below average looking. It would be possible for a man to be somewhat attractive (like a 6-6.5) and 21 years old and have him be overlooked by 18-21 year olds. As a result, he finds himself having sex with a much older woman.

This is a cougar-cub type relationship but it's not what people think of when they think of cougar-cub relationships.

The woman is unattractive and so is the man. That's why people don't tend to think of it as a cougar-cub relationship.

This is also a cougar-cub relationship.

The woman is an attractive woman in the typical age range of a cougar or a hot mom (MILF). She's getting to the older end of the age range.

This is a cougar-cub relationship because the age difference qualifies.

Typically, men over 30 are less interested in the older woman thing because they have enough options with younger women. The stereotype of a younger man having sex with an older woman is a man under his mid-20s because he hasn't aged enough to have a lot of women younger than him.

I remember being 22 and first out of college. I started going to bars in a district that was known to be more working age. While that bar area wasn't super old, there were a lot of 24-27 year old women at these bars. The 24-27 year old women at these bars were less inclined to go for 21-22 year old males. Another option I had and used was to go to bars in the college district despite being out of college. As a 22 year old male, the college district bars were a better fit for me because 21-22 year old females at those were a bit more common.

I told that story because I could imagine a frustrated 22-23 year old getting ignored in bars could have interest in a sexual relationship with a woman 30+. Also, a 22-23 year old might not have the same experience on apps as some of the youngest men in some bars but could also be ignored because apps are quite competitive.

RP greatly overestimates women’s preference for older men.
Husbands and wives are generally close in age. The average husband is only 2.2 years older than the average wife. It's unknown from the sample below whether unmarried couples follow the same trend on age gaps. I think there's a good chance it is similar since most people have a blue pill ideology and will turn from unmarried couples into eventually married couples.

Older men = more resources. So it makes sense that up untill recently women of all ages went for older men.

But, nowadays it's a different ballgame. An older woman with enough resources to "do her thing " in life only needs a man for pleasure. So you can be a broke dead beat, as long as you are good-looking in her eyes you have a chance.

I know dudes who are dead beats, don't have a job BUT they got time to hit the gym all day long thus making them more attractive than a man who's working 60 hours per week to get that money. It's a close relative of thugmaxxing, where a man sacrifices his "career" to look max.

This isn't anything new, I remember in my 20s I dealt with some older women heck when I was 17 I lost my virginity to a 22 year old fattie lol
But no seriously why are people surprised? younger men are easier for women to control and a young man can typically last longer than a guy who is older cause they tend to be in better shape. For most women, it's just a fun time and young man as well

Also a lot of older women who are dating younger men don't want to date men their age cause they older men aren't going to kiss their ass, well not the older men they want anyway, so yes go for younger model. Gen-Z ain't getting their women and Millenials are getting Gen-Z girls well there you have it

The average guy lasts about 5 minutes in the bedroom. And typically younger guys last less than older guys because they don't have as good control of their bodily functions.

Unless you are lasting significantly longer than that, I doubt that it makes much difference.

I actually have had women complain that I last too long...to which I tell them, plenty of women would be dying to have your problem

Your post is congruent with the near weekly reports of female teachers sewing high-school students.

There are plenty of single middle aged women out there who are financially set because of either divorce or they have cushy high paying corporate jobs that are looking for a good time and some arm candy. And the reality is that they don't have a hard time at all finding it from younger guys. These women aren't even necessarily looking for anything overly meaningful, just someone who makes them feel young again because at some point they need the tingles of the guys they ran around with when they were younger. Despite all the wall nonsense you read about on here the reality is that a reasonably attractive 50 year old woman will have hundreds of men under 40 lining up to give her attention, even though they are only typically looking for sex, which is perfectly fine for many women at that age.

Every guy is different I know when I was younger I could "Reload" quicker, but it all depends on the guy

Advice from the old lady:

It's typically at least a ten year age gap where the woman is older. No matter what the looks equation is. Think of Ms. Robinson in The Graduate. Classic cougar. Dustin Hoffman's character is a generation younger. That is cougar/cub.

Some here have labeled me a cougar, but really I've never felt those labels were accurate. While I am 7.5 years older than my husband & we are both very attractive, we are from the same generation and share cultural references. I also out earn him. But here's the thing. If he's attracted to me looks & sex appeal wise, and vice versa, and we were serious enough about each other to get married? Its not a fling. And he pursued me. Hard.

Most cougar/cub dynamics are novelties. Until the novelty wears off. It can be hard to build a life with someone from another generation, there is not a lot of common ground, imo, but its much more likely to succeed if the woman is substantially younger instead of the man.

Cougar is based solely on age; nothing else.

Even though the stereotypical cougar is a hot middle-aged woman with a 20-something boytoy, the 24 year old you know with a fat middle-aged woman is still a cougar/cub relationship (based on age difference)

The 35 year old you know with a 48 year old is also a cougar/cub relationship. Even if 35 is too old to be a boytoy, he's still young enough (compared to the 48 year old) to be a cub.

That reminds me. I know an attractive married 50 year old MILF (her husband is the same age as her...yet he looks much worse).

Sometimes he acts insecure about me talking to the wife (it's like he's afraid she'll have an affair with an attractive younger single guy)

In 2014, Roosh wrote an article about The Wall being softer than most men think it is. It is still applicable in 2024, if not more applicable.

Roosh was writing that more about the general dating prospects of 35+ women rather than 35+ women seeking younger men.

There's still plenty of demand for older women's pussies out there, especially from the tech based methods.

That neighbor is obviously a FrameCel & PizzaFaceCel, and not handsome in any way (maybe he is tall? ). Clearly, it is impossible for him to attain an attractive female contemporary, and so he takes what he can get - a fat, unattractive 40-something.

I would consider the chicks in both these situations to be cougars. A man of age 35 should be dating a 24 year-old.

That's normal for men as they age.
I think one of the main reasons an older man takes longer to reload is that typically the woman he is with is not that attractive.
