Yes, and more and more people continue to die from these issues every year.People have been saying the exact same thing for more than 20 years and yet we're still around. I also remember the "ozone layer scare", which was a big thing in the 1990s (before global warming became a big hit). We were all supposed to die from solar radiation by the year 2010. No one talks about the ozone layer anymore for some reason. And back in the 1960's, they were predicting a new ice age. You can think of many other examples of whacky pseudoscientific theories that became mainstream.
What I find scary is that one day, some idiot political leader may actually try to combat these imaginary demons and cause REAL harm to our environment in the process. They are already talking about building machines that would "suck" CO2 out of the air and store it in the ocean. Gee, what could possibly go wrong when you start messing with the atmosphere?
Why wouldn't they continue saying it? Or should they just do the "stick my head in the sand like an ostrich and pretend it isn't happening" method that so many posters here seem to like employing? There is a saying that there are 3 kinds of people..."Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what is happening".
The wonder what is happening seems to be the large majority here.
Don't worry...one day you'll take your head out to look around and everything will be just fine and you'll be reminded how you dont believe in any of this nonsense. Everything will be right as rain...just like the Oracle told Neo in the Matrix. Would you like a cookie and a nice tall glass of milk too?
Unfortunately your beliefs are not supported by any known facts.
Rapid increase in the risk of heat-related mortality - Nature Communications
The risk of heat-mortality is increasing sharply. The authors report that heat-mortality levels of a 1-in-100-year summer in the climate of 2000 can be expected once every ten to twenty years in the current climate and at least once in five years with 2 °C of global warming.
