Not control… the fact that it is humanity’s fault. We are changing the environment for every plant and animal species on the planet. It’s not just “warmer climate = Less winter = good!”
I'm not going to listen to the opinions of the same guy who said covid was a big deal, only to be proven wrong two years after the event. You're never living that down.

1.2 millions Americans died from covid-19. Many that survived are still suffering permanent respiratory, circulatory, and brain damage. He calls this “no big deal.”

Most unnecessarily disruptive and most politicized pandemic in human history. Least deadly pandemic in human history if deaths are measured as a percentage of the population.

Pretty soon many of these places will be uninhabitable if this continues warming at the rate it has seemingly every year being warmer than the last.
In 2023, Phoenix, Arizona had 31 consecutive days with a high temperature of 110+. The previous record was 18 consecutive days in 1974.

Yes, there are places in the United States that will be uninhabitable in the future. Phoenix is one of those.

Before air conditioning became readily available, Phoenix had a small population.

From vaccines.

The number of people who died compared to the year before covid was the same, if not lower. The stats proved this in the multiple threads we had. But keep living that dream where covid devastated the world. We already showed the receipt of you making that bad prediction, with a couple of others. By the way, I am still alive and healthy after ignoring everything that was fearmongered.

Nope, you are lying. Lying over the graves of 1.2 million Americans.

Climate change created cause of humans and Covid are/were fake hoaxes. You must be one of those insufferable liberals nobody wants to hang around with
Anthropogenic climate change and 1.2 million dead Americans due to covid-19 are established facts. Sounds like you have a difficult relationship with reality.

UK has had a colder than average start to the summer.

They used to grow wine here 700 years ago but they can’t anymore. It’s been far hotter here historically.

However, the weather reports have gone up several shades of red.

I find it hard to accept that it’s a conspiracy, it’s too large.

on the other hand, there are countless examples of organisations over-egging the pudding.

My main support for green technology is surprisingly quite a right-wing one!

The world has many countries with large amounts of oil who give absolutely nothing to the development of the human race other than ignorance and corruption, yet they have fabulous wealth whereas us here have to produce things of value to pay for our oil.

The gulf states and most of the Middle East by rights should be a backwater of humanity as they have ordered their societies based on backwards religious ideas. In the normal run of things, this eventually would spur these nations to develop and change. As they’ve had artificial success based from luck essentially (without the developed world inventing combustion they would still be living in tents) they have not had to come to the modern world.

Venuzuela, Russia etc. very corrupt.

Even the United States having the dollar underpinning the worlds energy has allowed them to export inflation.

Renewable energy produced locally will benefit everyone and allow far more independence, and crucially reduce the need for resource wars, far from home.

You watch how fast these tinpot Middle East dictatorships crumble when the money hose is turned off.

Hi Fruitbat,
I try to keep an open mind on the conspiracy thing too,but it must be admitted there is a Shvit load of mazooma in the Global warming Industry and with China incorporated being the biggest exporter of renewable energy hardware you can expect lots of corruption....You're right about England being Warmer back in the Day,but other posters can equally point to bitterly cold times....Lordy in 2006 the Bering Straits froze and Guys walked across it! as I was growing up the big scare was the coming Ice Age!....The Pentagon even advising the US President that by 2020 England would have the climate of Siberia!

it was colder in England about 200 years ago. The Thames used to freeze.

Ever seen A Christmas Carol? Scrooge? Snowy London? We’ve had about 2 white Xmas since the 30s.

We had a very warm period just up to the point we left and created the US, Aus and spread some Jesus to Africa and half-inched all of the Indians loot.

My main theory is that those in the know understand there is a fluctuation coming and this is all to get off dependence on oil. Politically Britain would be incredibly well off producing our energy.

Saudi knows the game is up that’s why it’s pursuing tourism. They will fail ultimately.

I have nothing against individuals but it’s high time the Middle East, Venezuela and all the corrupt countries extorting democracies started producing something of value.

That doesn't gibe with what this article talks about...

Drier climate with far less rainfall in many places along with warmer than normal temperatures and the first time ever over 40C there along with more frequent and longer heat waves...

Wasn't London just dealing with days and days over 100 degrees and more in the 90s multiple times in the last few summers? Including setting all time record high temperatures?

London has had temps reach 30C or higher 116 times in the last 30 years and 59 of those happened in the last 10. Clearly this is showing a much higher frequency has its risen from 2.85 days on average per year in the first 20 years of that period to an average of 5.9 per year over the last 10, more than double.

Really extreme temps are even worse with 7 times in the last 30 years recording 35C or higher and 5 of those have been in the last 5 years. Went from once every 12.5 years to once a year. That's a massive increase in frequency.

Same with consecutive days above 30C...in the 1990s and 2000s only twice in each decade were there temps above 30C for 3 days in a row. Since 2017, every year other than 2021 has seen that happen now. Again, going from an average of once every 5 years to basically once a year again.

Yes, the average temperature in the UK has been increasing since the 1960s. In 2023, the average annual temperature was 9.97°C, which is just 0.06°C below the record high of 10.03°C in 2022. The decade from 2012 to 2021 was on average 1°C warmer than the 1961 to 1990 average, and all 10 of the UK's warmest years have occurred since 2003.

Also, according to historical records, it is warmer now than it was back then and English vineyards are at their height NOW, even surpassing what was grown back then...so that's a myth of you believe it was warmer back then...all evidence points to it being warmer now and likely far warmer on a yearly basis. Look at the temperature graph taking off over the last 20 years like a Bitcoin parabolic breakout out of a downtrend...it basically put in a giant green one hour candle on the chart.

When you realize much of our society wasn't designed to undergo this type of heat for so long it becomes scary, even just simple glues or adhesives may become impacted, stuff we don't really think about, oil, fats, like it's mind boggling

I recall distinctly the summers around 2003-5 in Europe were absolutely scorching. We had really poor summers often through the late noughties and early teens. 2018 was hot as I recall.

The data is the data and I’m now willing to believe it but the turd in the punchbowl is:

- We will have travel restricted. Only the wealthy will jet around.
- we will likely have our right to own a car taken away.
- Meat will be reduced. Weak citizens.
- Every single climate protest movement is 99% full of communists who want to dismantle capitalism.
- It’s only us who have to change. The third world don’t care.

You look at the shape of the above solutions and you do kind of think there’s a chance this is socialists with a theory having been defeated economically in the latter half of the 20th century.

It is a horrible future for our children.

of course, what they say is “it will be worse without our solution”

which is what they all say.

Also note how they’ve gone directly to saturate children with these ideas. It seems 90% of the curriculum in schools is about climate change and not reading and writing.

I smell a rat with all this. The wealthy will be fine, but the proles will be stuck without air travel, in some resource based UBI situation.

Don’t forget that at school I WAS taught we were heading for an ice age (this is now denied).

There’s only so far you can trust academics. In my experience, most are cvnts!

Not sure if a blessing or a threat for you guys in the US given the average weight of the average woman there.
Both unfortunately. I went to an outdoor event today here in the midwest. A mix of fat and skinny. And it was hot so you know the type of clothing that was out.
