I'm not 'at MENSA', but my (now ex-)wife was and they have 'family weekends' where our children would meet other children. I would trail along, but I didn't care much for people who don't understand that a high IQ is like an empty measuring glass, an indication of mental capacity, not of intelligence. So you are at MENSA that is awesome. Maybe some members hava a chip on their shoulder and migh be to focused on even getting more smarter so social skills get worse. If they might focus on social skills they may get better at it but may diminish in other areas slightly.
Before my son could be tested, my wife wanted me to take the tests because she thought that if I had a high IQ as well (hers is in the 140s), the chances of our son being 'gifted' were bigger...
I never took any tests and since my divorce I no longer need to go to those boring self-congratulating events.
