Waiting for car prices to drop doesn't count man
I’m just saving money from my jobs so I can make the payment. I’m really feeling the effects of spending basically everything I made the first year of my employment

Updates and Getting Some Thoughts Onto the Page

So I posted on my other thread an update about my loan being approved. Since I’m thinking about these financial topics, I wanted to write about some topics I’ve been thinking about.

I really enjoy the game community but I do have some complaints/criticisms. One of my main gripes with the game community is, they’re never upfront with you about how much stuff costs. Going out a ton and talking to lots of women isn’t cheap no matter how you slice it tbh, I think that this needs to be talked about so we can be financially prepared. You can see this even when PUAs are trying to sell you their bootcamps, the prices are seldom if ever listed on the site and when you ask them how much it will cost they always dance around the subject lol.

I’m assuming that this is to sell more products.. some sales funnel technique where they want you to be totally invested before they tell you the price.

A guy I used to wing with before he got a girlfriend was even like, “You need money for this to even work tho, that’s what they don’t tell you!” I plan to stay in the community for a while but I can’t say I disagree.

The long story short of this is that I’m going to continue to work 60 hours a week as long as I’m still at my first engineering job so I can go hard in the game like I want while still putting away money for my future/success. At my starter engineering salary without an extra 20 hours of work at a side job, doing game every weekend plus game trips had me living check to check lol. I was just mind blown that I could be an engineer and still be living paycheck to paycheck. I’m aware that there are plenty of people who make 6 figures and live check to check.

As for that WLB, for the forseeable future, I’ll just be going hard in game while grinding hardcore at work so I can get a promotion. After I get promoted and get that paybump, I can decide whether I want to work 40 hours again, or I could continue to work the 60 hours and make $90K a year. Either way, I’ll be able to afford the game.

Just wanted to get those thoughts onto the page and share a bit of personal experience/future plans…
