Which is fine if the world isn't about to explode into war, you're not about to lose the reserve currency, or destroying the purchasing power of the consumer by massive inflation.
All those items make citizens more dependent on government ……
Coincidence?

What would be sufficient? What should have been done differently considering the available technologies through those times? I'm sure some things could have been done better, but I'm also sure there would still be a lot of people unsatisfied until everything is perfect.
People will always be unsatisfied. Even though people bvtch and moan, mandates do work. Mandates got people to wear masks. Got people vaccinated. It’s the same with climate change. California is the first US state to ban the sale of new gasoline powered cars in 2035. People will bvtch and complain, but life will go on.

If anything it's a diversion created by the large industries who dump the majority of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and contributing the most to the climate issue. They have everything to gain from people focusing on these small ridiculous things while they keep spewing out absolutely massive amounts unnoticed, that's why you see oil companies and such support seemingly green technology
Spot on.
With the power of social media, we can easily report and punitize large polluters as consumers Thats how you force change. Instead, we’re divided and misguided on who should pay the bill while fighting over plastic straws (literally).

I'm more a supporter of good education than to force idiots to comply to stuff they don't understand.

Funny you mention California will phase out fossil fuel cars by 2035, in my country that goal is less than 3 years from now. A few people do b!tch and complain about it, but well over 50% of new cars sold in Norway are already electric. As I understand it, California is also littered with Teslas already, 2035 might be a bit too slow.

Great in theory. Does not work in practice. People either won’t understand or don’t want to. That is the human condition.

With that being said, California is the first state to adopt it. Usually the rest of the coastal states follow not too far behind. For cars, California has had stricter emissions standards than the rest of the USA. A bunch of the states in the northeast now use California emission standards rather than Federal standards.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Is your high environmental standards and leftist ideologies one of the reasons for all the tent cities popping up?
but well over 50% of new cars sold in Norway are already electric
Respectfully it’s funny how Norway is electrifying but accumulating great wealth from your oil and gas reserves in the North Sea.
Bit of a double standard isn’t it?

Not being argumentative, just trying to visualize the costs of compliance.
Lower standard of living or continued prosperity by tapping the thing we’re trying to avoid (or other natural resources)

You forgot we're talking about millennials here :)
Are we going to ignore all the jobs that depend on interstate travel? You disrupt the supply chain and it will have a domino affect.

Hey, I'm just making a joke. I'm not the one trying to get rid of gas and oil. Which is mostly wishful thinking.

Should have mentioned that this also isn't done over night, have to do better with the newer generations and wait for the older generations to die before this will take effect. Your solution eventually leads to authoritarianism, which we also know doesn't work. You have far too little faith in people.

No Norwegian is going to deny that, but we try not to make it worse than it already is. We export the oil, our energy comes almost entirely from hydroelectric plants, it's very convenient to electrify our country. It still is a bit of a double standard, but hey, it's the greenest and most ethical oil on the planet, lol.

This would be a strawman argument. Getting off oil does not prohibit interstate travel or the distribution of food.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

I honestly think it's just incompetence. Most of these politicians can't see past their own nose, probably because they're too busy trying to remember all the lies they've told so they don't make clowns of themselves. All the political class needs to be removed from office, they don't have our best interests in mind, only theirs.

The only reason this is happening is because the united states collectively decided to virtue signal about this and throw a massive wrench into the machine of the global economy by cancelling Russia, and all tto cover up the giant pile of dirt that we have in Ukraine for a few more months thanks to our corrupt politicians and media.

What is wishful thinking about getting rid of oil as a power source?
It's intrinsic to almost everything we do, and we don't have anything that can replace it that is as cheap and effective.
And even if we do, up and coming industrial countries are just going to take our place as users.
I'm all for finding clean and renewable energy sources, I just don't think anything I've seen suggested by the climate control crowd seems realistic. And it's hard to take their leaders serious when their own carbon footprint is bigger than mine.

There is not a single benefit to being a high carbon emitting country. I’m not sure why so many seem to have an emotional attachment to oil. Oil is a toxic dependency and its effectiveness is specific to the application. From a vehicle propulsion standpoint, an ICE is considerably less efficient than an electric drivetrain.

There's no emotional attachment to oil. Switching over is expensive, and disruptive.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.
