I think this is a sampling bias imo There's a difference between Russians who live and stay in Russia and Russians who can travel.

In Russia, it's a mixed bag. Moscow is more westernized. Smaller cities are more traditionally Russian. A lot of single moms and other problems that we also have in the west. All things considered, it's not as bad in Russia compared to the United States, and that's mostly from what I can tell from observations. Honestly I've found that on a deeper level, women are not that different.

It's not something I'm ashamed of, I've always been open with everyone about everything. It's always better to own up to it instead of feeling guilt about it.

When I told conservative traditional women about how i had casual sex in the past i expected them to be turned off but instead they made it their mission to "reform" me. I was also open to women that i was unemployed before, they would just be more adamant in making sure i apply for more roles and go to more interviews.

I'll put it another way from my understanding. Matriarchy/Patriarchy scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a matriarchy and 1 being a patriarchy, then I would say Sweden would be a 10/10, USA 8.5/10, Russia 7/10, Israel 6.5/10, and some middle eastern country probably somewhere around 5/10. Ancient Roman Republic around 100 BC would have been 2/10, Rome around 100 AD probably 6/10.

It's 100% the culture, in Russia and Ukraine women still expect the man to provide for and pay for everything as if we all live in the 1950s. Older Russian women were more feminine and would cook 3 meals a day for her man.

Modern young Russian women on the other hand consider cooking and cleaning to be "slavery" while still expecting a man to pay for everything. This is my personal experience from living in Vladivostok and dating Russian women.

If a guy wants a real traditional woman then he needs to look in the Caucasian mountains (Chechans,Alans,Circassians and etc) , those women have very strong family values.

I'm confused. If they were your coworkers, shouldn't they already have some idea about your level of income? Also, was this in Moscow or in a smaller city?
