Even in this thread somebody else initially mentioned the fact that my guy is younger “substantially younger” he said? Who cares?
It really wasn't meant to be a swing at you. I do think it's clear that you're somewhat sensitive about it, however. If your relationship is happy, you shouldn't be. And I thought the age gap was larger than 8 years. Still, 8 years isn't exactly insignificant either.

A 52 year old woman in a committed relationship with a man 8 years her junior is atypical. That's not meant as an insult, a potshot, a slight, none of it. It's simply not typical. It doesn't conform with biological and social conditioning that we all, since the dawn of humanity, are subject to. Do I care? No. Neither should you or anyone. I'm simply noting that your relationship isn't the typical relationship. You don't need to prove that you're an atypically attractive 52 year old woman either. I'll take your word for it.

Within the context of this thread, however, I believe that this atypicality is relevant because you are, on paper, the "dominant" in your relationship. You're older and more financially established. Yet, you remain attracted to your man and he to you, because the inner dynamic is still male/female, with you as the female.

In most cases, as in this case, women do not like being the "dominant." On paper, or otherwise. Your situation is unique. The sh!tbird girl we're discussing, however, is more typical.

This is true. Many of the taxis in Europe are Mercedes. I recall a Bengali friend once telling me that a Cadillac was considered an exotic in Europe, where we saw them everywhere in the states as a nice car, but certainly not an exotic.
Cadillacs are lower-tier luxury here, like Acura or Audi. Not Mercedes, Lexus, BMW level.

I started saying “advice from the old lady” years ago as a tongue in cheek way of dealing with disbelief and people’s assumptions that at my age I must be an old washed up granny or cat lady, lol. That’s just simply not so. For that same reason my avatar has always been a photo of me. Not for attention but rather as confirmation that I am in fact as advertised. So it is out of the integrity of being as I say. Which is more integrity than many here.

Now. If somebody here wants to take a swipe at me “because I’m female” when much of my content stands alone and is solid advice that could have just as easily come from a man? Well that’s just shortsighted.

One of the guys in this thread said he has no idea what I look like (see avatar) and several including you are in seeming disbelief about my circumstances with my relationship. Those are facts (my circumstances). If you actually saw my real life you’d say “Oh. Yup. Just like she said.”
You are missing the point. It does not matter what you look like in real life, how much money you have or who your boyfriend is. Not because I'm doubting that you're telling the truth but because I honestly don't care. This information is neither interesting nor relevant to the discussions we have on this forum. Your looks, wealth and social status add no value to your opinions and advice. It's not like anyone is going to think "hey, she looks much younger than 52 and her boyfriend is a semi-pro, so her advice must be excellent (pun intended)". Kim Kardshian has money and looks but I sure as hell wouldn't take advice from her...lol. You should consider following the example of the other female SS contributor who manages to express her opinions without cringe-inducing peacocking.

This may be the disconnect here -- Mercedes is much more of a "commoner" brand in Europe, probably more like a Toyota Camry or a Volkswagen Jetta. Here, it's a status symbol. It means you have money. An new A-class Benz MSRP's at $33K. Spending 2/3rds of a year's salary on a car, even with financing, is just bad financial discipline.
ironically if you have a mustang in the UK, Youre classed as doing okay for yourself

Agreed the lady OP refers to is unkind. Sadly.

@rjc149 Duly noted about Cadillacs. My friend made that comment many years ago, lol. As to the sensitivity thing I am not sensitive about my relationship. He is the dominant. Finances really don’t factor tbh. What I do tire of is (and it’s been true for years here) is the inability of the thoughts I post about threads to stand alone. I post very few of my own threads. I respond if I think it’s worth contributing to someone else’s. Lots of things I say are criticized because I, a woman, said them when they could have as easily been said by a guy. So yeah that gets old. It’s silly especially since much of the advice I offer comes from my father’s views.

And people are curious about female posters here, which is natural. I’ve been questioned much as catsmeow is being questioned currently. It’s a male space & I get that. I’ve been told to go away as well, again, I understand why and do not rail about that. Additionally I am atypical in a number of ways, so I understand that too.

@Bokanovsky fair enough. You are welcome to ignore me.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

Just because your father is a male doesn't mean his advice is sound. He could be the biggest blue pilled white knight cuck that ever lived. Most males don't give good advice because they're stuck in the feminine imperative mindset.

Agreed. All the older males in my family with the exception of my father were beta males. My father was an abusive alpha 1.0 unfortunately. So I never looked up to any of the males in my family. Tried to find the alternative like alpha 2.0 black dragon talks about but even that is incomplete.

As I’ve explained in other threads my father was as red pill as they come long before The Matrix existed. So his advice was/is solid. He embodied what everyone here aspires to be as a man. All the men in my family of origin were that way. FWIW.

I hear you. I thought it was worth noting that in your relationship, the disparity in income between you are your partner isn't as relevant to your relationship because a) you're both high earners and neither is the "breadwinner" and b) the age difference itself may indicate some other dynamic in your relationship that makes it tick. I was off on (b).

In most cases, women lose respect/attraction for men they out-earn, especially if she is the breadwinner in the relationship. But I think we agree that this woman is not only demonstrating that, but also immaturity and lack of financial discipline, and generally being a jerkoff. This is of course bearing in mind that buying a new Mercedes in Europe isn't as big of a deal as it is here.

My buddy in college had a black Mustang with a racing stripe. I thought it was the coolest car.

Didn't get him any poon (because he had no game). Broke down a lot. My old Lexus SUV just crossed 100K miles. Never a single issue. Hard to argue against Japanese cars.

No one making less than $50K per year should be buying a German luxury car. No one should be buying a 10 year old used car. It’s a total waste of money.
A 10+ year old used car is not a bad buy in certain cases. It's a good first car for a newer driver, especially a 16-20 year old.

German luxury cars are a pricy experience. Both Mercedes-Benz and BMW have gone down in quality since the 1990s.

Paying any sort of premium for a 10 year old German luxury car is just poor spending. Maybe getting a 10 year old Honda or Toyota for your teenager is fine.

BMW is a better car than Benz. Benz seems to have a reputation for electronics problems. I also think the brand is not as exclusive as it once was. A C class is pretty accessible.

You make a defensible point there. As a 16-17 year old guy in high school, you will be able to bang more women with a 10 year old BMW or Mercedes than a 10 year old Honda or Toyota.

The C Class when initially brought to market was supposed to be Mercedes-Benz's answer to the BMW 3 Series. The 3 Series has been successful for BMW.

girl I know has had a job promotion at JCB, shes recently purchased a Mercedes A class, nothing mega but still tidy...

why am I telling you this?

her chap is a mechanic, nice beta guy. she now out earns him & has a better car

Her whole aura towards him has literally flipped like a sociopath in 30 days. she adored him a month ago(so to speak)

In the cafe this morning, she told me "shes independent now and earns the most money in the house", the slightest thing he does she threatens him to leave.

get this as well, shes re activated her social media this week hmmmmmmm.....(Dating app)

She never spoke in this combative way a month ago, women are literally controlled by their DNA

the Manosphere advice once again unravels infront of me......
Best thing he can do is throw her asss to the curb now. Go and date other women

What is JCB? BTW, women can turn on a man on a dime.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

I would estimate he earns around 18 UK thousand, being an employed mechanic.

I know for a fact she was on 16k before and shes on 28k now.
That's about $40K/yr. At that income, I'd be driving a beater.

My money would be on a lad driving a beat up van.

No, unless that person driving the beat up van has a criminal record and tattoos.

I believe there are a few archetypes that can get you laid.

Rich guy is one of them. There are plenty of men trying to pull off rich guy, spending money, and still not getting laid. Rich guy alone won't get you laid conventionally unless accompanied by some other factors. However, rich guy alone can work on a sugar dating platform.

Wait— £28K per year? That’s a little under $40K per year in the US. No one making $40K per year thinks it’s time to buy a Mercedes, not even a C class.
In the UK people like buying cars on personal finance or on long term hire deals ( they never actually end up owning the car ) but at least they can flex Infront of work colleagues and post it on instagram

Where i live everyone is driving BMW's , Audis , mercades even though the average salary here is 25K a year GROSS

Some are paying upwards of £400 a month in repayments for the pleasure

its very bizarre behaviour but is absolutely rife here
