Exactly. Whoever engineered this debacle made the US look like amateurs …The problem isn't that we're leaving, it's the way we've done it. We should have gotten the civilians and Afghan aides out first, while we still controlled our zones, instead of pulling out the soldiers and winging it from there.
Yes, the allies put on their shoes before their socks on this one. To leave behind thousands of Afghan collaborators to be slaughtered by the Taliban would be totally unacceptable. Everyone who helped allied forces over the past 20years should be airlifted out pronto. The problem isn't that we're leaving, it's the way we've done it. They're more concerned with pushing their woke ideology than anything resembling military strategy.A sad day when the most powerful country on earth gives up the high ground and basically surrenders to 70K guerrillas, without a prior plan in place for citizens and friendly evacuations…

To be fair, it was the anti wokesters who made the immigration requirements so difficult as to be impossible. Thousands of these people would already be here if we hadn't made the paperwork intentionally too difficult for most of them. They are supposed to get employment documentation from contractors who have long ago left the country. These are the papers that the taliban execute you over if they find them on you, so you can understand the reluctance to carry them around for years. They're more concerned with pushing their woke ideology than anything resembling military strategy.

Well maybe the “most powerful country on earth” tag was just sweet propaganda and pure Hollywood hype. Powerful countries with top notch militaries dont surrender to just 70k guerillas on donkey-back after 20 years of battleYes, it’s a sad situation in Kabul. Two other countries troops, French and British I believe actively physically helping their own in country citizens to mobilize to airport and get out.
