Not sure. When I RX something, it's usually for a major issue; such as an car accident, gun shot, stabbing, OD. So, in these instances, a narcotic is necessary for the pain; at least initially. Even for the OD, we give a narcotic, narcan / opioid ****tail and then an RX of methadone to help the person not crash as they detox.
As for the ADHD, anxiety, depression in the US, well, it's mostly females and I believe closer to 15% - 20% are on some form of anti-depressant or anti-anxiety RX. It's unreal.
