There are some situtations that can occur like your describing but to me those are the exceptions. We can agree to disagree and leave it at that. I'm not trying to change your beliefs, yet I've understood them to the best of my ability. My brain isn't wired like yours and I have mine.I'll respectfully put out the notion that you may be applying mutual exclusivity where none exists. For example, someone can have an agenda but still be right (for some definitions of "right"). Otherwise known as: "doing the right thing for the wrong reasons".
I'll also ask that you reconsider that "everything is about agendas these days". Rather, I see it that agenda is being disproportionately attributed to the actions of individuals and organizations. In other words, it's not that suddenly everyone and everything has an agenda, but there is an effective contingent in the information ecosystem that is relentlessly casting actions and outcomes in that light.
Beyond all this static, I believe most of humans are alike but we often concentrate on trying to dissect the differences instead. But in reality we have more similarities than differences. It's the internet that is especially good at promoting those differences into a toxic environment that exists today. No one wants to see people die and we all want everyone to be well. I think everyone can agree to that unified thought.
I'll be signing off on that note as far as this is concerned.
