I agree with this. You are born the way you are. Now, there is a certain variable gray area where you can go back and forth, but in general, you are gay or you aren't. Keep in mind we're talking about a very small minority of the population.

I've known some gay guys who pump themselves full of hormones and do Crossfit or whatever and live the life of a straight guy. But they are gay, and they will be caught by their wives with another guy one day.

Every gay person I've ever met says they knew they were gay from a young age. Societal norms can be very strong, which is why so many sheep just go with the herd. People live fake lives daily, everywhere, all the time.

Straight males trying to figure out if gay males can be born gay. Shouldn't you ask a gay guy? Then the question is whether they're properly interpreting their memories. So it seems to me the only way to figure out if someone is born gay is to go to the source. Either looking at genes (which seems to be somewhat inconclusive) or observing infants as they mature.

The problem with this convo is that no one is going to successfully convince the others to think the way they do. Because no one can provide evidence... Save your energy brahs.

More or less, yeah. I mean I know the Etruscans went ahead and literally had city-wide orgies right in the streets and stuff, **** was wack. For those of you who think that gayness is purely genetic, how do you explain the fact that these “born to be gay” folks seem to be quite capable of having sex with women and even fathering children? When homosexuality was less accepted, it used to be common for gays to have families and children for the sake of plausible deniability. This kind of behavior still exists today.

Think about it for a second. If they can stay hard long enough to blow a load inside a chick, obviously they don’t find the idea of sex with a female to be repulsive. Not to mention, one also has to woo a woman to some extent to get her to marry him. This means that one must convincingly pretend to be straight, which would not be easy to do for someone who is “born gay”.

Now, let’s also talk about pedophiles. To be clear, I am not drawing an equivalency between gays and pedophiles. But are pedophiles also “born that way”? To paraphrase samspade, who in their right mind would actually want to be a pedophile? And if pedophiles are genetically wired to be attracted to children, why are we throwing people in jail for having kiddie porn on their computers? They can’t help it, right?

What about sexual fetishes? People who like to get whipped or peed on or dress up like Batman while having sex - were they born that way too? Do they have defective genes?

I will believe that people are born gay when someone conducts a scientific experiment where they take a hundred infants, raise them in a controlled environment with zero exposure to gay stimuli of any kind, and some of them still grow up gay. To my knowledge, this has never been done.

I had a random thought about this. People ARE born gay. Why? This threads existence explains it. People who say "Nobody is born gay, it's a lifestyle choice" are exposing themselves. They're saying they have felt gay tendencies, but CHOOSE not to be gay or give into those tendencies. I don't know about you guys but it's not even a choice for me. I'm not attracted to guys whatsoever, and would never have sex with guys. People that say people choose to be gay are projecting their reality. No, YOU choose not to be gay cause you're fighting it. Earlier in the thread I mentioned that I have a gay older brother who was born gay and that I dont believe in the existence of a gay gene, instead I believe in some sort of DNA sequencing errors or DNA combination errors during pregancy that gives rise to gay males/females......

I should have also pointed out tgat I am 5'10.5" and weigh 210 lbs while my brother is 5'4" and weighs 145 lbs.....

....that's a 6.5" difference in height and 65 lbs difference weight.... Yes, we're biological brothers....

Something happened to him during pregnacy.... I can only speculate that because my parents were very poor when they first conceived him that he was malnourished during pregnancy which lead to testosterone deficiency which may have lead to gayness.....
