Abortion is wrong and if we had safer sex (not just condoms, mind you, but she should take birth control), we wouldn't need to consider it as an option.

Yes its a woman's body. I agree. She gets to do whatever she wants with her body, that's her freedom.

And the baby has its own body too, does he or she have the freedom to choose ?

The decision to give birth is made when the woman willingly has unprotected sex or even risks it with protected sex. So, that alone takes care the her choice argument. Her choice was made. Yet, we see with women today that they want redos on everything. A woman regrets having sex. She then claims the man raped her. The woman regrets getting pregnant. She kills her own child to undo the pregnancy. Abortion is the ultimate expression of hypergamy. Hypergamy doesn't care. It knows no bounds. It does not care if it is murder. This is why it is called pro-choice. Some women are willing to murder in order to make a 1 o clock hour choice on their reproduction.

Ugh, let's hope abortion stays legal. And, if the right to abortion is abolished, let's hope they blanket the nation with free birth control.

Otherwise there's going to be a lot of child support money being paid out. You guys definitely don't want that.
Birth control does not need to be free. It is already extremely cheap. Heck, it's even freely available already in many areas.

Have you ever had a ltr? Birth control is expensive for women, which is absurdly stupid, given that society pays for a lot of the babies we fail to prevent. I have seen $60 to $80 a month, and that is with having health insurance.

It can be expensive, esp if you have health insurance.
Condoms are always free at health clinics (that I know of) and we should all have some

If the health insurance has to pay for the birth expenses, I fail to understand why they make birth control so expensive. It would seem to be a wise cost/benefit decision to make it cheap, just like it is for society overall.

Well, if the woman you’re currently banging is not economically sufficient enough to afford any pills, you better wrap it…
Lives can be changed forever when immediate momentary passion/lust overcomes common sense…

Baby killing is still murder as you've taken away it's choice to live.

Use condoms. Birth control pills.

Women should be more responsible and be held accountable.

With the exception of hypergamy.

Everything else is true.

How quickly one can turn to agreeing 100% with you.

USA is both the allegedly developed country with the most vocal anti-abortionists and some of the worst worker & consumer protections and social policies. Ripoff, unsecured healthcare. No vacation. No parental leave and no childcare. No unionism. No free or subsidized higher education. You'd think if they were "pro-life", they'd be on what in America passes for the far left of socioeconomic policies. But they're on the other side, voting to keep it the way it is or make it worse. They don't give a shyt about the child's future when it's actually born, what environment it will come into. They just want to control other people, like the old movement to keep people from masturbating.
This is spot on! Coming from the social democracy of Norway I think US politics is backwards in so many ways.

Consumer protection: 3 or 5 years on almost anything, with exceptions for things that simply don't last that long with regular use. I just need the receipt and the product. The burden of proof is on them to prove whatever is wrong was caused by user error if they object. Let me tell you, they judge in favor of the consumer more often than not, but it rarely has to go that far.

Worker protection: A lot! Limits on the amount of hours, what an employer can and cannot demand. When they can and cannot demand it. Companies can easily be sued if they step out of line, due to the next point.

Unions: They're organized from small ones below larger ones covering huge sections of a specific industry which is organized under one massive union representing workers interest nationwide. Companies simply do not wish to fvck with the union, because we will fvck them back if they do. All members (and most are organized) get benefits, among those are super cheap legal insurance. Basically I get a lawyer without additional cost from the union if I get in trouble.

Healthcare: Mostly free, they charge a small fee for a doctor's visit. Nothing for hospitalization either planned or unplanned. Some prescriptions can be picked up for next to nothing and some are full price, depends on circumstances.

Vacation: Minimum 25 days/year. There's a minimum amount the employer need to put aside from our salary and is paid out in June (normally), we call it vacation money.

Parental leave: 12 months combined the first year (that's including 12 weeks before birth), 12 months each the next year for each birth.

Childcare: Not subsidized unless relatively poor. Pretty expensive this one actually.

Education: Everything up to university is completely free, beyond that it's subsidized to varying degrees.

Abortion: Legal, up to 12 weeks, women's choice. After 12 weeks they have to make a request to the abortion committee where they will evaluate the case, not sure what the hard limit is.

My view of abortion: I support the Norwegian law. Americans discussing this topic is just simply absurd to witness.

Right behind ya bro. I'm over in Stockholm. It's pretty bizarre to see the Americans arguing about things that are already proven to work better in the rest of the world like universal public healthcare... the Overton Window is shifted to the right everywhere, but particularly in America. But I think many Americans are starting to wake up to that now. And half the population, most of it being the American working class doesn't vote because they know neither party serves them (which no party does here either btw).

And personally I see libertarian socialism/anarchism as the goal, not social democracy which is a kind of capitalism. But even our social democracies are being dismantled now by neoliberal deregulation, austerity and privatization.

I think capitalism is ok as long as the government serves the people first and foremost and not companies.

Well that's a contradiction, since capitalism serves the plutocrats first and foremost over the people by definition, that's what separates market capitalism from market socialism. But I get your point, you think social democracy is fine. Most of our ancestors when they could pick a side seem to have agreed, which is why we still work as much as medieval peasants for our subsistence despite being able to go to the moon :)

I strongly agree. My coworker got his friend with benifits pregnant, and she went for the abortion mind you he wanted the baby. He had no say, and this was the 2nd time she did this to him. I guess the 1st time a year ago he didnt care and she was in no rush. But now that hes probably falling in love with her, he cared. She quickly made these choices and he felt awful. She's probably waiting for a better prospect then him. Terrible.

For the sake of argument, the best one I have heard against other countries adopting the Scandinavian ideas of government is that both Norway and Sweden have been blessed with oil, and are thus disproportionately wealthy to much of the rest of the world, at least per capita.
