At its best, makeup enhances a woman's looks, rather than cover them up. The fact that women use makeup has never bothered me. It's not hard to figure out why they do. Females derive a large part of their value on their looks, so it's to their benefit to make themselves look as good as they can. I prefer a natural look myself, not a heavy made up look.

Similarly, men don't derive so much of their value from looks. And their physical attractiveness is more from dominance traits, like height and muscles.

If this is what you see as true and lasting value that men bring to the table, then it's only 'true and lasting' value to the woman for as long as she is benefiting from it.

I'm not saying that there is no value in looks money and status but it's not always sustainable ( men lose looks too at some point), it's not always reliable (rich men get dumped all the time) and its fragile (status can be lost in an instant due to many factors outside of our control).

So what else do you think could true and lasting value? Why not someone's character? How they treat others? What about what's inside the person and not just surface stuff?

Exactly. The girl I am seeing now makes me laugh my ass off. Bringing laughter to my day is bringing value to my life. If a girl alone can make me laugh my ass off day in and day out (provided I find her sexually attractive), she will go a lot farther in my books than any model who's under 25 and has the ability to reproduce. I value character over looks. Looks obviously matter for initial attraction, but character (character as I subjectively prefer it) ranks higher on the value hierarchy than looks, especially long-term.

If all you value in a girl is "looks, youth, and fertility" you'll be disappointed, because as OP said, they are fleeting. Looks will get a woman in the door with me. But she's got to bring more to the table than winning the genetic lottery in the looks department. Superficial people value superficial things and thus attract superficial people.

Guy here seem obsessed about makeup, but it's never bothered me. If a girl uses makeup heavily, that's going to clog those pores and cause the acne you're talking about. Again, I don't like a heavy madeup look, I prefer a more natural look. A little makeup is fine though. I like the "smoky eyes" look, for example.

All guys want hot girls, but the guy who expects more than just a pretty face/ body stands out because he sees himself as worthy enough to set the bar higher and not settle for arm candy, in my opinion. I don't know. I just find guys like that tend to be more confident and intelligent and those are attractive traits to women.
