Halloween is good day to dress like Manson.

If you're trying to be "everyday edgy", go with normal clothes but, go for dark edgy colors to subtly communicate the message you are sending.

I wear mostly black / greys... My clothes are normal (grey button shirt, black cargo pants, black shoes)

You don't have to dress like a freak (no disrespect) like Manson to be edgy. And, normal chicks will still be attracted, increasing your options.

If you play the validation game, you are going to have to deal with devalidation as well.
That was gold. So true.

When someone disrespects an Alpha male, he usually gets in their face and they usually back down.
Yes. But trying to practice that mindset is mentally challenging for someone who isn't an alpha male, yet.

The problem isn't how you dress, it's the fragile ego that you portray in your post.
Maybe wear what you feel comfortable in.... I don"t think women care that much IMVHO so long as you don"t look like a wino. If you are comfortable in yourself you can get away with it.
What Trunks pointed at was the reality factor. I have been doing what you have suggested for the past two weeks , wearing stuff that I feel comfortable, yet send out the vibe that "I am a cool different guy who looks awesome in black". Gotta work on my inner game first.

People who mock others on the street are projecting their own insecurities on to others.
People secretly are jealous of others that have the balls to be different.
Judgements are always about the person doing the judging. They have nothing to do with the person who is being judged.
I understand this. But getting condescending gazes from low life hoes is pretty frustrating (Hey I can be judgmental too:cool:)

Only when such alpha happens to be taller, more muscular and with a more commanding presence than the one bashing him...but in that case there wouldnt be a provocation to begin with.

Roberto Deniro qualifies as alpha to me yet I dont believe he could force a 6"2 broke failed boxer to back down in the street.

This whole alpha here alpha there as if we're talking about demigods is excessive.

You just defined alpha. By definition, the shorter, less muscular one with a less commanding presence is called beta. Alpha is the one who Vegas bets will win the fight.

I agree the term is overused but I was simply quoting famous words I did not pen.

I believe that while a certain physical presence contributes to status among peers, its not the benchmark to assess position.

In my opinion a beta could outpower physically an alpha given a huge difference in size but that has nothing to do with one value or achievement beside brute force and ability to fight.

I mean that a broke 6"2 boxer who fight amateur matches for few bucks can easily intimidate and beat a 60 yrs old 5"8 army general yet I would hardly define the first as alpha and the second as beta.

The moment the army general isn't physically stronger than the boxer anymore, the younger boxer becomes the local alpha. We don't say an 80 year old beauty pageant winner is still hotter than a young 7.

So being alpha is about being the most physically stronger man in the area?

So Napoleon leading 100.000 men to battle is not the alpha in that context because plenty of his soldiers are younger and stronger and could easily beat him and walk away unharmed?

Im just trying to understand all of this, personally I dont believe terms used to define the rank of a gorilla should be used to define humans in a complicated society, the fact that anyone has a different meaning of alpha doesnt help either.

Im not talking to you in a condescending way, not at all, just want to know if the main trait of an alpha in your opinion is physical strenght and the ability of overpower anyone around him, wouldnt that make the bouncer the alpha and the owner a beta even if the owner can fire and send back home the bouncer?

Yes, whoever is strongest is alpha. Your short-little-weaker-alpha theory is glorified beta.

Like people recommended -- tone down whatever style you're going for. Marilyn Monroe - esque style is fringe and you are definetly going to be looked at and judged everywhere you go. It's like wearing your pants over your underwear. You are also confining yourself to a niche regarding women. With the personality you're projecting you'll only attract the goth, thrasher, metal head type chicks.

From your post it also sounds like you're not too confident in the entire persona at all. The "goth" guys I know with gauges and shít usually don't care about anything -- especially not someone's opinion of them. Which beckons the question of your genuity. Have you recently gotten into Marilyn Monroe and adopted the style or do you feel it really expresses YOU?

Anyways if I were you, I'd get a better haircut and just wear black. The dudes in your niche have alot of respect from me. It takes balls and confidence to carry yourself that way.

You probably mean Marilyn Manson. Marilyn Monroe style on a guy is a whole different look but will still get condescending stares (and a little rough trade).

So your president is walking in a room with his body guard and the the body guard is the alpha?
Obviously big neil is physically big, so he has defined alpha-ness in a way that protects and bolsters his ego. Similarly, small nerdy people define alpha as the smartest, businessmen define alpha as the richest/most productive, many groups define it as social connectivity/status. These are all correct; the alpha is the one with the most power in a specific arena. I would consider physical toughness a more fragile form of alpha, because as soon as someone has a gun or even a knife, big neil loses his alpha-ness. Although in the dating game he always has that genetic advantage / attraction, which must be nice..

To the OP: Unless you're trying to fit into some group style, why can't you just wear what you like, know that you look cool, and laugh at the petty judgments of others? Would someone that's happy and confident and enjoying their life get all butt-hurt and start a fight with a random "loser" that comments on their style? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't, unless they just really enjoy fighting and don't care if they break a hand or mess up their face.
