Met a girl on Friday at a bar, talked for a bit, she kissed me, and put her number in my phone. Her friend was a hot mess, so she left the bar before I did. I texted her when I left the bar with a standard, "Good meeting you tonight," deleted her number, and waited for her to text me back if she was interested.
Sunday night, I get a text from her saying that it was good meeting me too. I wait until Monday morning and text her back, but she asks me to remind her who I was because she was drunk and met a lot of people. We go back and forth on that for a bit before I deduce that it was just a ruse to start a meaningful conversation so she could feel more comfortable with me before agreeing to a date.
We text on and off throughout the day (30 mins to 2 hours between texts, approx. 20 total texts between us). I tell her we should meet up this week, and she calls me right away. We talk on the phone for 45 minutes, have a good conversation, I pass her flurry of **** tests, and then she says she might be free this Friday but possibly not because it's Easter weekend. If not, she'd love to meet up next week.
We continue talking for a minute or two, but I've had enough at this point. I hate talking on the phone to begin with, I normally only talk to a girl on the phone for 20 minutes (especially one I just met), and so I say I'm gonna go and we'll talk soon. She just says, "Bye," in a curt tone, but doesn't hang up. I pull my phone away from my face to see if she hung up, but she hasn't, so I say, "Oh, I thought you hung up. Ok, I'm going to go." Again, she's curt and says, "Ok. Bye." This time she does hang up.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but she sounded pissed.
1.) If I made her mad because I legitimately didn't want to be on the phone with her, then she's not someone I'm interested in.
2.) If she was looking for a late-night booty call and I missed the signals, fine. I wasn't going to drive the 30 minutes to bang her anyway because I just got home from being out of the house all day.
3.) She could also be trying to get the upper hand, play hard to get, and wait to see if I chase her. I probably won't, because that was the weirdest end to a telephone conversation I've ever had.
4.) She's a crazy person.
That's the four things I think could be going on, but I'm stumped.
