I'm on board with Dasein's Guide. That goes for phone calls too.

With regards to the 'Us', we (men) never confront exclusivity. The concept of partnership can be planted indirectly like a seed, within a specific context. It doesn't have to be fantastical; in fact playing on romantic/fantastic notions is more easily detected.

Par example:
-Been rapping (in actual verse) back and forth with this 9, (she really is a 9) online the last couple of nights:

Last night
Pinky: 'I'm sending some of this material off to the exam board for review.'
TMK: 'Oh. I already sold us out to Sony....'.

Queue further dialogue of 10-12 verses.

You see.... the subtlest hint to 'us'. No romantic fantasy needed - just the mere seed of covert suggestion, making her subconscious hamster go on a little midnight jog.

Fck. I'm quite excited about this one. She look a bit like Eva Mendes.

These things aren't written in stone. Doesn't have to be romantic or fantastic. It has to be whatever is congruent with your personality and something you find fun.

Do you think you should calibrate your humor style based on who you're talking to if you're capable of it?

Yes and no. If she loves sarcastic humor and you're capable of it, sure, indulge and have fun. But do not "mold" any aspect of your personality to fit anyone else's.
