One of my cop friends refered me to this drink called "The Snake Bite". The name had a clever ring to it so I enquired further. Turns out it basically consist of this stuff called Yukon Jack over ice with a splash of lime juice. I gotta tell ya guys, this stuff it's the sh*t. Yukon Jack is a canadian whiskey with a honey liqueur. Now I know what you're thinking, how could a seasoned drinker like myself enjoy anything that incorporates honey into the mix? At first I was thinking the same thing until I found out this stuff was 100 proof and ALWAYS finishes clean. There are very few drinks I've ever had that are over 85 proof that if I wanted to I could chug down quickly if necssary. As a sipper, this is definately a rocks drink for just about everyone and trust me when I say it WILL knock you on your ass if you have snake bite shots lined up on the counter.

Sooooo for the time being I have a new under 20 dollar favorite go to drink from the super market. Yukon Jack has the slight edge over my now number two drink Jim Beam Black Label. It retails for 19.00 and delivers the goods like few drinks can. Oh and if you mix it right, and that shouldn't be too hard, you can get quite a few girls drunk on it without too much objection. Thank you and goodnight.

A buddy of mine drinks that stuff religiously, I've actually had him ask the whole group to pick up and head to a different bar because RoadRunner didn't have any Yukon. I don't dig really. I prefer my whiskeys to taste like whiskey. Give me a Jameson 1780 anyday. Or a Dirty BeefEater Martini.

If you like sweeter drinks, try some Sambuca Black (which RoadRunner does have), or a vanilla whiskey (which again I didn't like, but that might mean that you will).

Or just quit screwing around and buy Absinthe. You'll never want anything else. :D

Well sinner your imput is well founded. I've actually had and enjoyed all the liquors you listed there. I'm just a straigh up alcohol lover. I have been known to drink Vodka, whiskey, burbon, scotch, rum, gin (not so much recentl) etc etc with the best of them. I just appreciate good liquor and even more so good drinks. Recently my go to drink at the bar has been vodka grapefruit, people say that's a greyhound but If you've had an actuall greyhound you'd know this is incorrect.

Anyway all of the liquors you suggested are good in their own right but are over 20 dollars which is kinda the nitch i was shooting for there. Also, with the lime juice Yukon Jack is definately not as sweet as it would be on it's own. It just finishes kinda sweet but maintains it's alcoholic sting which is a plus. I'm all for 40 dollar bottles of Irish whiskey or anise liqueurs but these aren't midshelf drinks (although sambuca is close). Absinthe might as well be 151 as quickly as it will put most people on their as, myself included. Not saying I won't drink any of them because I will from time to time, but often the fact that I can't buy it for less then 20 dollars at Albertsons, means I won't throw it it my basket with the rest of my groceries.

Yeah, I can see that. Most of my friends are the same way, but I just prefer saving the money to spend on something that I really like sometimes (I'm a bit of a booze snob if you can imagine it).

Absinthe is out-the-ass expensive, but when you get the good stuff like Mari Mayans or Abtshof, it's so worth the money. Since you have to order it from Germany however, I can see how it doesn't really fit your need. :D Still, I would recommend setting aside some money each week and when you have a hundred or more, go visit www.alandia.de for the best ride of your life. Everybody who drinks should do it.

Jameson does have a blended whiskey that you can buy for $20ish at Albertsons though. That's generally what I grab when I'm looking for a cheap buzz.

You must mean the Jameson that comes in the Green bottle with the yellow label. Yeah I enjoy that one from time to time on the rocks when I'm going to chill at home. It's especially good before bed, knocks your right out. I'd hardly call yukon jack the rocks sipper jameson is. It's alright though and always cheap and can double as a cheap pre gamer if I' going to hit the town. I dunno it's a matter of opinion I suppose. I still like to fill my flask with Beam Black Label Because it's my favorite american bourbon.

Bump!

For the sake of the drinkers on this site...This stuff is close to deadly for women! I had relations with 2 girls this year solely off of the snake bite!

Snakebites used to make a regular appearance for me back in my drinking days. In fact, it was my "go-to" shot for my first couple years of college. Strong and clean, with a unique flavor. Ahhhh....good times....

An old boss of mine drinks it regularly. If there is a bar you frequent with regularity, request that they keep a bottle chilled for you. Cold and clean is the way to drink it. Cheers PR!

Now there's a name I haven't heard in about 15+ years. I remember Yukon Jack from my cousin drinking it with pink lemonade I believe. It wasn't bad but I don't recall too much about it, might have to give it a try again.

My senior year of high school was complete and utter debauchery at every level.

Each morning before I left my house to pick up my best friends Andy and Will, my job was to make our drinks for the day. These consisted of:

Tequila sunrise made with the cheapest sh!t tequila I could find. Equal parts Rumpelminz and Yukon Jack, topped off with fvcking Piels beer (the most godawful piss ever milked from a horse c0ck) I named this vile brew The Bruiser. This was one of my nicknames in school so I though it appropriate.

This was our diet every fvcking morning before school.

How we made it out alive is still a mystery to us all.

Try mixing Yukon Jack with Mountain Dew.. you'll be suprised how good it is. For whiskey though I never stray away from Jack unless I'm getting some Jameson (Irish Whiskey)

Magma - I never took Yukon Jack THAT far but I can say that overall everytime I've bought a girl a snake bite on her birthday I've gotten laid by her.

MacAvoy - A Yukon Jack and Lemonade is a Jack-o-lemon It's a summer refresher out west here. 101 and one of these is paradise.

Karma - ...what the f*ck man. I almost threw up.

Splinterkb - Yukon-dew-me....don't think too hard about that.

taiyuu otoko - i've never seen anyone here with negative rep points. I hope you have some street cred where you are.
