That's still not the dog's fault...it's the fault of the parents who didn't teach their kids not to hit dogs.

A few months back I was on a ride-along and we went to the crappy part of town where owning a pitbull was like a pre-requisite for living in that particular neighborhood. Anyways we were searching for some chick that had violated her parole cutting through backyards and s.hit. All of the sudden this pitbull comes tearing around the corner of the house straight for me growling and barking, looking like he wanted to rip my throat out. I was so scared I almost pissed my pants, but I stood my ground (only cause there was nowhere to run) and put my heel into his nose as he jumped at me. Straight up flipped the dog head over heels! He got up and whimpering and made a beeline to to his doghouse. No joke. I was like  afterwards. lol!

He went after you because he thought he was protecting his owner/guarding the yard. You were lucky to be fast enough to be able to catch his nose with your heel. The dog was likely a big old softie but was placed in a situation where he was "guarding" the yard. Pitbulls really aren't naturally aggressive towards people.

Screw that I'm not standing there and letting the dog bite me. You guys say you would but when it happens lets see what you guys do. One time a rottweiler ran at me barking viciously and I just ran and jumped over a wall into someones house. Haha you can call me a wuss if you want but I got away.

dogs are frikkin awesome creatures , if treated with respect and love they can be your most valuable ally/friend.
I read this news in the paper a few weeks back .
These 2 girls pretty young had this dog , they loved him and cared for him , he was kinda like the dog from the show frasier , i dont know the real breed name. But one day when the two girls were out playing with their other 2 friends and their dog , 2 Pitbulls came around and they were barking and ready to attack the kids. And the little girls dog then stood infront of the girls and protected them , now know this dog is really small and hes up against two pitbulls , so the pitbulls charged at the kids the little dog stopped them both and started fighting them , the kids ran away and got help , but it was too late the little dog had been hurt beyond repair and at the vet they had to put him down to take him out of his missery.

we treat animals as they are lower then us , our slaves. But animals have the capabilities to be more compassionate and protective then even us.

some of you will probably say , hey its was his instincts , but the dog had to have cared for the kids to be ready to take on two pitbulls. just shows that animals are more amazing then what we give them credit for...

Dogs are very territorial.

What I always did (when I was about 140lb and way too skinny, mind you) was turn around sharply, take a quick step toward them, and yell BACK!!!! at the top of my lungs as if I was their owner, and about to smack them one.

They always went back to their yard.

yep, that's intimidation. this would be the best bet against an angry dog. they are protecting their territory, but they are also not stupid enough to take on an animal that's way bigger than they are unless they know they can win.

show them you are not afraid and then they might back off.

run and they will chase you down.

Jack Russell Terrier...Frasier's father's dog was a Jack Russell Terrier. We have one...and she is incredibly protective, fast and would do the exact same thing. If the kids wrestle she tries to make them stop. She's actually my 16 year old son's dog. He got her when he lived with his father for a year. When his father assaulted him the dog attacked his father and is extremely protective of my son especially. She's not scared of anything at all. One of the neighbors had company over and they brought a pitbull with them that wasn't on a leash and was running around in our yard. It was playing with the kids next door and was a good dog being supervised by it's owner. Our dog was going nuts wanting to get outside and get at that pitbull. She's a fiesty little thing.

To show the size difference:

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

when I have "company" spend the night, I have to lock my door because my dogs usually sleep with me.. it's either that or listen to them cry all damn night or even worse.. bogard her out of bed or bogard themselves in bed with us

I would probably try to climb a tree, or get on the other side of a fence, or jump up on the roof of a parked car.

When I was about 11, I was walking up a trail in the woods near my house and was cornered by two dogs. They stood there in front of me blocking the path, growling and showing their teeth. I was convinced they were going to attack, so I picked up a stick nearby and then slowly moved around them and backed away.

What was interesting is that I knew these dogs. They were pets of two different neighbors, and not from aggressive breeds (a lab and golden retriever mix if I remember correctly). Under normal circumstances, I'm sure they would have been very friendly and non-aggressive, but together I think they must have reverted to pack instinct.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.
