Trading, boxing, documentaries (particularly on the Universe or history), MMA (only become more of a passion lately as the skill level has elevated making fights clean, as opposed to the sloppy old guys like Tim Sylvia et al).

My family, my career, and my house in that order. I guess I'm a little older than most on this board though. It's all a real man has time for until retirement.

Once retirement hits and my daughter grows it will be busking around the US playing bluegrass and motorcycling.

At this stage I would have to say fencing is my passion. Though I know I will not probably be able to win competitions etc but heck, I still enjoy it. Some call it "Physical Chess" due to its requirement of mental and physical strength. Nothing gets me more pumped than to kick the other guy's ass on the piste. I think it really helped me to build my emotional strength (I used to let emotions take control of me rather easily) and harden me up against setbacks. I guess I can say fencing was where my life began to turn for the better. Right now school's a bother but I intend to get back into fencing after my finals, my blade is collecting rust in my room lol.

Modern physics is fun. A lot of weirdness that most of society has no idea that is going on.

Question for trading/ buying securities. do you need a cert/ liscence to do it? do you just use a discount brokerage? Its looking like my field will permit me a lot of disposable income and I want to start a fund or sorts. If your more comfortable, PM me with wisdom you might have.

cheers

Powerlifting is a passion of mine too, especially deadlifts. I wish my total was higher though. Also, sailing is passion, a big one.

Mr positive and Kanada, interesting to hear you guys say sailing and fencing. These are two things I have to try!

Now to your Q synergy. I am an owner of a hedge fund in Australia. We require ASIC and NFA licensing to trade OPM (Other Peoples Money). And even then we are only licensed to trade institutional and high net worth money.

We trade through TT (Trading Technologies) for futures and we trade through the big IBs for spot FX liquidity through what is called a 'prime broker'.

If you are going to learn to trade, it will take years and years of full on study and you are probably best to use a platform (execution) called IB (Interactive Brokers). They are by far the cheapest as far as transaction costs. Don't bother using any other retail broker.

Right, I have some of the background at this point and have an overall idea of my strategy, so now comes the experience of giving it a run. The general plan for now is to invest my own money, than work on liscences to invest others as I go along. This way, I further develop it as I start to pitch the idea -assuming its even successful.

thanks again for the information!

Working on my inventions and restoring vintage coin-op games (pre-video). Also resoring any kind of antique machine. There's a great deal of satisfaction in bringing a piece of history back to life and preserving it for future generations to enjoy.

I don't know if it is a "passion", but I have completely committed myself to a spiritual path.

I cross reference my thoughts with science as much as possible, and then through proactive actions I strengthen my inner psyche with habitual contribution as much as possible.

For example, I try to sow as many seeds of contibution as I possibly can-even when I am in mood to. And my constant reward is staying out of the abyss.

peace
