your opinion on wingmen in highschool

for those who dont know what a wingman is

they're you're guys who you got with you to watch your back, particularly when you're approaching girls. some uses of wingmen are :

1) helping a friend pick up a hot girl by distracting the hot girls ugly friends (isolation or distraction). this works, because the favor WILL be repayed one day.

2) to boost your friends confidence and percieved social status (example, hes talking to a girl, telling a story whatever, give moral support, interjecting thinga that 'happened', 'remember that time when...' etc...)

3) break the ice and soften up the target for his friend to hit later.

basically, in 'military' terms. wingmen have got to who supports the "pilot" by engaging his target, as well as defending him against possible intruders in a hostile environment.

so, my fellow highschoolers, what are your opinions on having a wingman? does this work as well in a highschool enviroment, where everyone knows each other in school? discuss.

Personally, I think that a good wingman can help out anyone, not just the beginner who needs help. However, girls can often tell when something is staged so have one who is equally as suave as you that can throw in "remember the time when..." stories at just the right time.

As far as for working in high school, i think they work pretty well. Yes, everyone does know each other, but how many people really KNOW eachother

I highly doubt they would lol, people dont really 'know' people as you said. I've had both good and bad experiences with wingmen; as you said, if they're not as suave as yourself it just doesnt work out.

what can be fun sometimes is acting as the wingman for a less smooth friend; it really boosts their confidence in themselves, and girls see it.
